Hope everyone's New Year is bringing them happiness and good health! I have a question to anyone going through bisoprolol withdrawal now, or who went through bisoprolol withdrawal: do any of you have trouble concentrating, or with patience doing most daily mental tasks?
The anxiety that I'm going through from this withdrawal is insane. So I'm sure that is why this is such a problem, since I've never had issues with these things before I withdrew from bisoprolol. But it is completely maddening, and bothersome. I feel like I barely have the patience or ability to concentrate on anything more than watching TV, let alone a more daunting task like reading anything.
Is there anyone going through this now, or went through it? And if you did go through it, please tell me you eventually return to having normal patience and concentration? Thanks!

I haven't had bisoprolol withdrawal, but I do have major depressive disorder (with co-morbid anxiety disorder), and I definitely get shortness of patience and concentration when in an episode. So I think it's a pretty normal reaction to heightened anxiety and/or depression.
It's been an awfully long time for you now, though. You must be miserable. I'm so sorry you're going through this....
I stopped 12/12/24 after 4 months on it because my blood pressure was too low, the first 3-4 days were terrible, palpitations, racing heart but eventually it got better, the anxiety is still present as I have so many health issues I’m trying to get answers for but once I got through the first week or so I was ok.
Christmas and lead up to Xmas was stressful, so hoping now things have settled a bit I might be more mellow, still get palpitations now and again but that’s another issue.
BHF told me it’s because your body is flooded with adrenalin again and will stabalize over time. Give the BHF a ring for peace of mind .
hello, I did go through a reduction from 10mgs to now 3.75 but I did do it over about 8 months. So maybe my withdrawal wasn’t really anything to talk about, but I would assume a slow long withdrawal would be the answer to come off it
Hi! I recently came off bisoprolol as I just did not tolerate it. Had awful palpitations, dizziness, fatigue and just general unwell! When I came off it, I immediately restarted my atenolol so my withdrawal wasn’t really too bad. I did struggle with an increase in anxiety though and just felt a bit more on edge! This was about 4 weeks ago and have found myself feeling more or less back to myself now!
Sorry to hear you’re struggling, I hope you feel better soon!
