Can I ask please has anyone found it helped with side effects by changing from one ‘sartan to another?
I can only tolerate 25mg of Losartan and any increase in dosage gives me terrible headaches only relieved by Cocodomol. I realise we are all different but just wondered if anyone had the headaches. Feeling desperate as I need to be on a higher dose. Seeing my GP ,again next week. This has been going on for months now. Thanks for reading

I got changed from Ramapril to Losartan because of a persistent cough. It wasn't that. End up with AVR and CABG and now I'm on 50mg Losartan twice daily. I can't think of any side effects from taking this.
Thanks everyone for your replies. It’s just so difficult isn’t it how we all respond differently some with horrible side effects and others with no problems.I’ve also been on Bisoporol for 2 months and broken out with psoriasis ,confirmed by another doctor. Seeing my GP on Tuesday in the hope of sorting it all out. Good luck everyone and thanks again
I they decide to put you on Ramipril watch yourself for nasty side effects. Many can take it safely but I had vision problems, irregular heartbeat, fatigue and worst of all shortness of breath. It got better for a short time after I was off it and then got much worse until I ended up in an emergency room where it was found I had pulmonary edema and an aortic valve malfunction needing surgery quickly. Don't know whether the Ramipril reactions were masking the valve malfunction or actually caused it.
It was scary but at least the problem was found in time and I felt much, much better after the TAVR. I hope you can find something that works best for you without any side effects. I had to go back on the first BP med I ever had, Lopressor (Metoprolol Tartrate) and take it twice a day as nothing else I ever took worked well for me or else had negative side effects , though none so bad as the Ramipril and Losartan.
I was in 25mg losartan then increased to 50mg due to bp was not going down, had no side effects whilst taking them, however, had to stop taking eventually due to the 50mg led to my bp going down dangerously low but that's another story as previously posted, all i would advise if your gp does increase losartan or any other bp meds for that matter just please do regular bp checks so that it does not get too low.
