A couple of days ago there were posts on here about plasters helping to stop bleeding after a cut etc. if you are on blood thinners or anticoagulants. I am on apixaban, and did not know these plasters existed. So thank you.
I am due to do a home finger prick test soon, and was a bit concerned about stopping the bleeding. I asked in my local pharmacy today about these plasters, but they do not have any and said I should look on Amazon for haemoplastic products.
So, once again, thank you for the information on your posts.

Yes, I have trouble getting the b ood out as well. I am hoping that apixaban might make it easier! Perhaps bleeding afterwards won't be too bad after all.
I had no problem with stopping the bleeding, indeed I had trouble squeezing enough blood out.! The kit I had included some sort of plaster which, after use, showed only a tiny dot of blood.
I think it may have been the post I started that you saw, by the sounds of it.
While the very small cut on my knuckle seemed to bleed and bleed, at the same time I've had several blood tests since starting blood thinners and never had a problem so I think there can be a big difference depending on what kind of cut\puncture it is.
Hopefully your finger prick test will be like my blood tests and not be a problem for you - good luck with it.
Yes, it was, and thank you. As I said before, I did not know such plasters etc. existed. I had a bleed after a recent blood test, but then that was taken from a vein, a finger prick test isn't. To be on the safe side the plasters and gauze have now arrived so I can do the test next week.
