Well, 2022 has certainly been an eventful year!
Way back in February a little (not really so little) friend came to visit call an Inferior Stemi, total occlusion of the RCA. After a quick visit to the Cath Lab (first time in an ambulance with the blues & two's on) I was fixed with only 7 pieces of metal inserted to open up the offending arteries, they decided to do a little more fixing whilst I was in & whilst they were in!
Now, I'm back working full time, over a stone lighter, eating way healthier than I ever have done, regularly going to 'Parkrun' each Sat morning (when it's not too cold) & rehab class on a Mon afternoon. Although I've changed the way I work, I'm still really lucky to be able to do my work with only minor adjustments. My employer (I work in a school) have been outstanding, I really can't thank them enough, together with all the overwhelming support from my family, they have both saved me.
Now to you fine people... whilst those closer to home have kept me going physically and emotionally, you have kept me going mentally. Yes I'm still recovering from Trauma and PTSD, and will continue to improve with time, as will my heart (hopefully). Your council, advice and personal stories of determination & successes and sometimes the odd setbacks, have reassured me and comforted me through some really tough times......and I thank you, from the (damaged) bottom of my heart.
Please please, keep supporting our newbies and not so newbies, the way you have me, it really is invaluable support that we may not otherwise receive, yet is so so important for out total recovery and rehabilitation. We are lucky to have some really knowledgable, compassionate people on here, who give of themselves to help others, again thank you.
Please, everyone have a great Christmas, (no dramas please) and see you next year, which will be better, Captain Tom knew "tomorrow will be a better day" didn't he!
