I just read that it better to take Aspirin at night? As anyone been told by their Doctors to do that?

Aspirin
Hi I have been taking aspirin when I get up since my operation in 2005 , under the instructions of my surgeon cardiologist and GP .
If you want a definitive answer to your question talk to your local pharmacist, who will be able to understand why you are asking, take into consideration any other medication you are taking, and also whether you take dispersible or coated aspirin
Hi there
My husband takes his with his evening meal as I read the same as you and checked with our pharmacist who agreed it was better in the evening.
Mainly because a higher percentage of heart attacks happen over night when you are not moving around as much.
My husbands was first thing on a Sunday morning, he woke up with chest pain and we went to A&E where he had a cardiac arrest as soon as we arrived.
Hope that helps, but ask your local pharmacist too as they are usually quite knowledgeable.
Good luck
I take mine in a morning but actually it just stares daily so I will try swapping it to an evening.
Aspirin in the Morning: Which Produces Greater Cardiovascular Benefits? Although there appears to be no difference in blood pressure reduction in patients who take aspirin at bedtime compared to those who take it when they awake in the morning, bedtime aspirin may be associated with reduced morning platelet reactivity.
Thanks
I was told first thing in the morning. Statins as late as possible at night
a 2018 paper supported earlier work which indicated that an evening or split (twice a day) dose was more effective
tandfonline.com/doi/full/10...
"Conclusion
The once daily morning intake regimen exerts the lowest level of platelet inhibition throughout the most critical window—the early morning—in comparison with the once daily evening intake, and the twice daily half dosage intake. Furthermore, both once-daily regimens showed decreasing inhibitory effects of aspirin between 12 and 24 hours after intake, albeit only significantly for the sTxB2 levels. Switching to an evening- or twice-daily intake seems prudent, although further research on clinical cardiovascular outcome in patients with stable cardiovascular disease is needed to establish the most effective intake regimen."
but there may be more recent info available
HiI take mine after breakfast in the morning. I'd you are reading Google I would strongly advise you don't!! I did and it just scares you. Do what is advised by the professionals .
No I read this in an article and I just wondered what advice everyone else was given
Yes, I was told to take my 81mg aspirin at night before I go to bed, and I also always get a couple crackers with it as well to protect my stomach.
I take my aspirin on an evening after my evening meal as I then have a lining on my stomach. My evening meal is my biggest meal of the day as I don’t eat a lot at breakfast or lunch. I was never really advised when to take it but thought it would be better after a proper meal. Hope this helps
Mine was prescribed for mornings so that's what I do.
thanks
I take 81 mg. “Maintenance aspirin” every evening before bed. To be honest, I take an orange-flavored, chewable “baby” aspirin each night, and I usually take 243 mg. (3 tablets) each night. Baby aspirin makes me feel comforted and it works on my aches and pains from arthritis.
This week, I have had 2-3 small cuts on my hands and a broken blister—all painful, but no excessive bleeding from taking the daily aspirin.
I believe that my doctor recommended taking the daily aspirin at night. ❤️
I believe I was told by the GP 2014/2015 when added to my medication to take in evening (with Simvastatin which was also added at that time) but at a medication review (the first one with a Pharmacist, previous ones with GP then heart nurses) in 2019 I should take it in the morning.
I was told by my cardiologist the time isn't important, but to take it with the largest meal of the day so that it won't upset my stomach. I take coated aspirin 75mg per day. I will only take it for one year following my surgery.
thank you
Was told to take it in the morning.
