I have low B.P. Had a triple BP seven years ago. I have P.A.D. and have problems with Arteries. Was prescribed Losarton and Bisopropol after the operation. Stopped the Losartan a few months ago without noticing any rise in B.P. Have reduced the Bisopropol to 1.25 mg a few months ago and still have low B.P. Wondering if I should stop the Bisopropol or half it to 7.5 daily. My Dr doesn’t seem too concerned. Wondering how much different it will be.

the advice is not to change your medication without support from your medical professional - and we here cannot guide you. All we might be able to offer is to help you decide how to approach your GP and with what evidence to support you.

I’m on such a low dose. The Dr wasn’t sure which to stop Losartan or Bisopropol. Only on Asprin, Statin and 1.25 of Bisopropol. My Diastolic is around 50 and hard to raise. Stopping Losartan changed nothin. Sometimes get dizzy and blurry vision.

It looks like you are on a crusade to get off all medication and your GP is ambivalent about this as the dosage of the medication you have been prescribed is low. This may be fine, but it does ignore the benefits that these medications provide.

Does your GP practice employ a Pharmacist? If so, it might be helpful to book an appointment with him/her to discuss your situation? I had a run-in with my GP over what he thought I should be on and what I actually needed to be on. Thankfully the practice Pharmacist was much more open to discussing the pros and cons.

Hi! What is your BP? I have always been on the low side but they only got worried at 80/60 and below. 90/60 and above is ok. Be careful with stopping Bisoprolol I heard that there are some side effects. Plus, you’ve been put on meds for a reason, do not risk a stroke or a heart attack and follow your Dr’s advice. Can you maybe see your cardiologist for a review if your GP is not reactive?

Not what you're looking for?
