My partner had a cardioversion on 5th Nov and still has to take blood pressure tablets blood thinning drug, amiodorone, apixaban, bisopropol beta blockers. Cardioversion worked thank goodness although his heart rate is only in the low 50s now but nurses say its fine. Im asking on here if any of you have bouts of chronic fatigue, hes ok most of the day but then he'll have a couple of hrs constantly yawning and feeeling drained. Hes 74. Any info appreciated, wondering if its any of the meds or slower heart beat. Thanks.

The bisoprolol will make his heart rate slow and make him feel tired (known side effect). The other drugs may have side effects too. You should read the labels to find out what they are, tiredness will probably be in there.

I have a heart rate as low as 38 been told I have a weak heart sometimes at night fall asleep on seattie as I'm relaxing apart from that I'm ok. I'm on rivarauxaban, clopidogril, atarvastin and remipril so it's a different. Medication totally, I'm 69 and very active during the day. Maybe a word with BHF or your Dr would be worth a try. It's going to give you piece of mind.

38 BPM? Wow! When I was in the Coronary Care Unit in Bolton I set off all the alarms when mine went below 40 BPM. You should see your doctor about that.

Hi Same age as me, I had cardioversion following a pericardiectomy last May, familiar with the same drugs, some of these will be dropped such as the Apixiban after several weeks of stability in favour of low dose aspirin. Bisopropol will continue but monitor because you can achieve stability with a lower dose eventually.Amiadorone also will be likely to be dropped out as progress is monitored. Yes the tiredness is a side effect but again gradually will improve as medication is reduced once the doctor decides but do keep pressing the point on side effects so that alternatives or reduced levels are offered once your partner feels a bit stronger. Very best wishes to you both.

Thanks. He has told the heart nurse everytime we go , beta blockers have been halved but he still has same episodes. They've discharged him now with an 'open' appt and no mention of coming off any of the meds!

Sometimes the Cardiac nurses are simply overloaded; I found I had to badger my GP and he in conjunction with the Hospital surgical consultant have made all the changes to my meds. Hate to be hard on the specialist nurses but they did absolutely nothing for me after I left hospital and I had zero follow up or remedial exercise programme from them in my local NHS even though I had been referred to them. So do push through your GP to get possible changes to the meds.
