Not how I expected to celebrate 1 year anniversary from heart attack 🤦🏼🤣

13th July 2023 I felt very funny after a tough yoga class, drive home had brunch and still felt funny. It developed into what I thought was trapped wind , I ended up with paramedics taking me to hospital and trop count confirmed I had a heart attack ! Total shock to me , my family and friends.

A day never to be forgotten but so glad to be hear celebrating a year on.

Saturday started by having an our usual breakfast, poached egg from our hens , homemade bread toasted with grilled tomatoes, olive oil fresh basil and grilled chestnut mushrooms , fresh coffee 👌🏻. Then out into the paddocks to work clearing weeds and pulling up ragwort . Hot sweaty work but a lovely office to work in 🤣. We took a coffee break at about 11:30 then carried on working , me slashing and loosestrife to stop it flowering and Mrs Wizza picking up and filling the barrow, we both pulled ragwort as we found it (harmful to horses) . At 14:00 Mrs Wizza called a stop for lunch , I said I’d be right with her after I’d knocked one more patch of weeds over by the bonfire. A couple of swipes with my blade and I felt a sharp pain under my armpit and noticed insects hovering around ky feet ! I dropped my tool and ran up the paddock as I didn’t want get swarmed , I was full of sweat and knew that wasps can latch on to the odour . I ran to the bungalow hollering and laughing 🤦🏼🤣 Mrs Wizza had a hose ready to douse me but it wasn’t needed , I only had one or two stings under my armpit . I started preparing some lunch , still chuckling about my lunatic sprint when I noticed my hands starting to to tingle , then my feet started . It began to burn and itch and quickly developed into pain ! I jumped into a cold shower , my face , hands and feet were turning purple. My lips began to feel like I had Botox, my tongue started to stiffen and my throat felt sore. Mrs Wizza got me to lay in the bed and called 999, gave me an allergy tablet and 2 paracetamols that I struggled to swallow. I was sweating profusely and starting to pass out with dizziness and felt so ill. The 999 emergency operator wanted to speak to me but I couldn’t speak any more , the swelling in my mouth was too much. I concentrated on yoga nose breathing and not passing out. A first responder arrived and began taking my stats , blood pressure had dropped 69/41 and oxygen sat to 70%. Then a paramedic arrived , two cannulas , drips , adrenaline shot , ECGs, radioed for an ambulance crew to take me in. The ambulance crew arrived and there were 4 medics working in and around me in our bedroom , chaotic! The paramedic said “ I’ve been here before? “ it was the same paramedic that treated me to the day , almost the hour for my heart attack ! I’d always wanted to thank him for insisting that I went to hospital for the troponin test that confirmed my heart attack . He said it would’ve have been easier to invite him back for a beer 🤣, next year he’ll just park outside the farm and wait for the shout 🤣🤣.

I was taken to Maidstone hospital , they were trying to stabile my blood pressure as it was not coming up enough and ensure that I didn’t have secondary shock after the adrenaline wore off, plus do another troponin test. The A&E duty doctor recognised me , it was the same doctor that did the blood tests and told me I’d had a heart attack! I wanted to thank him for taking that second blood test after the first came back at 74 and second 402 ! He said “I recognised you , you looked so fit and healthy I thought I was sending you home and now your back a year later, I haven’t been off duty since 🤣🤣🤣”

My blood pressure eventually came up to 114/74 , I was monitored for 6 hours , no secondary shock , trop count normal , epi pen issued , steroids and antihistamines for 3 days, swellings gone down, exhausted . Home at midnight . Happy anniversary 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🤣🤣🤣.

So sorry to hear your news. But you've made it through...and with an intact sense of humour. Here's hoping the next anniversary will be a lot less eventful.

Good luck!

Hello :-)

Wished I could be more like you :-)

The farm looks lovely where you are a lot of hard work I imagine but lovely and fresh air and open space that to be would be a work out :-)

Glad you did well at the yoga class :-) x

Donald Trump should thank his lucky stars that he didn’t get stung by a wasp and only a clip in the ear , would’ve been much worse for him 🤦🏼🤦🏼🤦🏼🤣🤣🤣👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻

OMG , what a nightmare, I bloody hate wasps. I'm that bloke who pays wasps exterminators money to sort out any nests in neighbours houses lol.

Glad to hear your on the mend and good to see you somehow saw the funny side of this.

Gotta keep a sense of humour 🤣. Felt great Sunday and Monday.. feel terrible today , absolutely washed out , can’t do much other than rest . They said it can take a few days/week to get back to normal .

What a story on your anniversary too but told in humour 😀 👍. I bet if was like a bolt out the blue when it happened last year but great to hear you've pulled through and getting back to your normal self. Was the wasp sting a blessing in disguise so you could say thank you to the paramedics and doctors who treated you 12months ago to show them your gratitude. Hope you're now well and watch out for the wasp next time.👍🤞.Take care

Taz.

It was a huge shock to be told that I had a heart attack, I was tanned , strong and fit, walking up and down A&E in my shirts vest and sliders , the doctor really thought he’d be sending me home 🤦🏼. The news was frightening to me , family and so many of my friends then realised that no matter how fit you are you can still become seriously ill. I have to say the anaphylaxis was much worse on the day , I was on the cusp of passing out. Felt fantastic on Monday , smashed a tough yoga class and a nice walk with my Lurcher. No outdoor work on my farm due to the rain .. had a terrible night, tossing turning and today feels like I have a terrible hangover, Been asleep most of morning till 1pm. They said it could take a few days /week to shake off. Taking it easy today, can’t do much else 🤣
