QQ. Does the pain in the arm associated with a H/A go all the way down to the fingers or is it limited to a specific area of the arm (upper arm for example). I have looked around and cant find an answer that is specific.
Thanks

Heart attack symptoms vary a great deal with individuals.I had very very mild chest pain, light headedness and that's it. It came then it went.
I had a STEMI with the LAD being 100% blocked.
If in any doubt phone 111 or 999 if you are have symptoms such as
chest pain – the chest can feel like it's being pressed or squeezed by a heavy object, and pain can radiate from the chest to the jaw, neck, arms and back
shortness of breath
feeling weak or lightheaded, or both
an overwhelming feeling of anxiety
My OH is just home after a heart attack. He had enduring pain in both arms - he said it was like tooothache. Don't delay , 999 . My partner was in dire straits and the ambulance crew saved him
That happened to me, the only pain I had was in my arms , mostly in upper arms but so severe it did radiate into the rest of lower arms and fingers, and indeed was like a severe tooth ache . Always contact 999 so they cans do the tests and decide if you go to hospital or not.
It varies massively.
When I had an angina attack, that was across my chest and down my left arm.
When I had my HA I didn't feel a thing, just mild indigestion and felt a bit 'off colour'. I was saved by the fact that I had an echocardiogram booked the same day!
Hi, everyone is different. When I had my HA I got pins and needles down both arms, all the way from my shoulders to my fingers. Also felt like I couldn't breathe, dizzy & nauseous.
My dad didn't feel well and short of breath but no pain when he had his heart attack . Only by having ECG showed he had one plus he had one while having the test and didn't feel a thing. Like anything there are classic symptoms but everyone is different how it effects them. If worried see GP or go to A&E.
Hi.
I had pain mainly in my wrist and back of my hand which exceeded the pain I had in my chest wgen i had a heart attack. I had blocked LAD and a stent fitted.
I still get intermittent shooting pains in my wrist and back of hand when im run down and tired.
"heart pain" can be felt in a number of ways apart from the classic "clutching the left side of your chest" - it can be in your arm/s, shoulder/s, neck, back or chest
it can feel crushing, gripping, aching, like pressure or more stab -like
it can show up and like wind, indigestion, reflux, nausea, a need to empty your bowels
and probably a few more - so down to your fingers is possible
if in doubt get help
Hi, mines was left shoulder and down to elbow outer arm. I think the best way of knowing if it's coming from your heart,is it it's painful to touch it is possible muscular. But I definitely know it was not muscular, it's a totally different kind of pain.
Hi,I don't think there is one specific answer. It depends on each individual . I have had 3 heart attacks and they have all been different..Is there a reason you are asking this question?
I only had 3 days of horrific indigestion then suddenly a slight tingling in my upper arm and up my neck. Very mild but enough to make me ring 999. No chest pain at all.
That's because there is no fixed pattern for these things. In my own case there was no arm pain at all. Only extensive tests proved that I had, had a HA! Only breathlessness and chest pains.
