Had a mechanical mitral valve fitted via OHS in June. Diagnosed with heart failure, EF 33% and I have a sudden death syndrome but have an ICD.
Sitting at rest suddenly developed an intense pain like cramp in my upper left arm. Should I call 111?

Hi, If it is a stabbing pain they tend to say muscular. if it is continuous I would call 111 and don't hesitate on 999 if needed. Take care x
Hopefully you did telephone 111 - looking forward to an update, hopefully everything is fine!
Hi,
Thank you both. I did ring 111 and they sent me to A & E. Normal (for me) ECG, waiting for blood results. Possibility of a small clot as my INR is far too low. If INR OK I can go home, if not I have to stay in :(If necessary, going to persuade them to give me injections to take home
I'm glad you rang 111, not glad it meant a trip to A&E but glad they may have found something to explain the sudden sharp pain, and really hoping it's something they can sort quickly and you can sleep in your own bed tonight.
(But if not able to go home tonight at least you're in the right place should things go a bit more wonky!)
Looking forward to your next update, Iris, please keep us posted and meanwhile - (((HUGS))), good thoughts and prayers your way!
YES YES YES!!!
