I spoke to my doctor , whilst he said the BP where fine, they could be episodes where I'm bordering on the low side which may be causing the light headed, quesy moments.
He has asked me record my BP as many times as possible, through out the day for a week minimum as he might want to reduce my dosage from 2.5mg Ramipril to 1.25mg.
My question- did anyone else 4 months on from Heart attack have medication reduced? Just want to make sure im not putting into motion a change in medication which is too early thus harmful in the long run to my heart health.
I’m seven months post HA, one stent. I have the same BP range as you, I typically test BP daily. Same dose of Rampril. I too can get a bit light headed when standing up too quickly, at night resting heart rate can drop to 50bpm. Not taking beta blockers but I presumed this effect was due to the Ticagrelor I have to take for 12 months. My thoughts where to see what happens after I stop the Ticagrelor in 6 months time.
Hi Baly_2023, yes my Bisoprolol was halved to 1.25mg 4 months after my NSTEMI, as had dizzy spells and bpm was 49. I still have light headedness and low blood pressure, suspect vasovagul syncope as of last month as BP was 55 over 44 and admitted to hospital. Am now on Ranolazine too and awaiting a myocardial perfusion test.
Yes my husband had the same at 4 months in. Over several months he had medications reduced, ramipril and bisoporal. One of them ended up being reduced in dose twice as was still having issues. They had to reach a balance where he could function normally without fainting, and still protecting his heart. He occasionally still has issues with light headedness but nowhere near as bad now
Hi Baly, yes , was having zombie time on 3.5mg bisoprolol and it was reduced to 1.25mg and half a tablet of 1.25mg ramipril.
However , I started having slumps again , huge fatigue, zombie , vagueness, felt like walking on my shins , shuffling, so tired could yarp fly pick my legs up when walking dog. Blood pressure would drop from 115/75 to 101/61 . That’s when it was agreed to stop artovastatin for a month. Then started Pravastatin and after a week similar started to happen. Same blood pressure dropping and my resting heart rate recorded by my Harmon was again going into the 43-45bpm (prior to Nstemi it was 49-52) Pharmacist said to stop Pravastatin. I have a review with GP today, no doubt a 3rd statin will be offered .. I have loads of questions .
Hi baly I came off one ramipril 1.25mg which I was having twice daily due to what you describe within 2 months of HA , I then came completely off it after another 4 months due to my blood pressure going low , 94/67 and dizzy spells . Felt great after coming completely off it , I'm still on 1.25 mg bisoprolol
Interesting thread here. I have low blood pressure - typically 95/60 following ISTEMI and stents last August. I've also got bradycardia (resting heart rate usually 52 during the day and lower at night) so struggle sometimes with fatigue but not usually dizzy spells. I'm on 1.25 bisoprolol and 24/26mg Entresto x 2 daily (replaced Ramipril) as that's all I can tolerate due to low BP. Dr tried to double my ramipril a few weeks after HA but that resulted in an NSTEMI and another stay in hospital. Interesting to note that statins can cause cramping - I have 80mg Atorvastatin daily but noticed cramping legs getting worse.
