I am constantly battling to keep my blood pressure up. I take heart tablets diabetic tablets copd medications GCA ,medication. I find each department wants its piece of me. Last week I went to see the heart failure nurse, my tests were that good she was going to discharge me until BP registered 78/76 the lowest ever. Should I have gone to A&E what do I do next, I spread my medication through out the day and is now stable around 110/75

Low blood pressure due to medication
Hello
When the heart failure nurse saw your blood pressure was so low did she not give you any advice what to do ?
It is a very low blood pressure and needs to be sorted so I would either get hold of my Doctor or heart failure Nurse today or phone 111 and ask advice but if you feel ill in any way then I would go to A&E
Let us know how you get on x
What did your HF nurse say about the low blood pressure? BP can fluctuate a lot during the day especially if you're dehydrated. I'm not sure a one off low reading is of too great a concern if you're not symptomatic, dizzy etc and the fact your BP is now stable at 110/75 is a good result. If your BP is low & you feel ok it's always a good idea to drink fluids & raise your legs above your heart as this raises your BP, then take another reading about 30mins later. Unfortunately taking meds can be challenging finding the right balance. If you have any concerns I'd always recommend speaking to your medical team or phoning NHS111.
Good luck
Hi, it has happened before and rarely gets above 110 we discussed which meds to separate and when I take them and arranged a phone call for next week.
Hi there iam glad you have managed to get your BP under control, I know how hard it is to get a good range because of the kind of medication you are taking. My lowest BP which I got was 96/76, i knew it was low because I was out at our local B&M and started to feel wired and my legs were like jelly, I managed to get home. I took my blood pressure after about 5 mins of rest and that the reading I got, I made appointment with my local GP and they reduced my medication by half, I been on half medication for around 5 weeks now and my blood pressure is near too or just over 120/80 and my resting HR 53-57. Only thing which is playing on my mind is when iam sleeping my HR is droping as low as 37 and the highest it's ever been is 43 while sleeping. It's really hard to get an appointment to see the GP to let them know what's going on. When you do get there you can see clearly see on there face " oh it's not you again" iam having a hard time at the moment taking one of my medications, I was getting lightheadness after taking it in the morning so I stopped taking the morning one. Everything was ok until one day I forgot to take my medication and 30 hours had passed, I took my medication like always around 2pm and now iam experiencing side effects, feeling sick, pinching around the body and headache,I have been taking this medication since May 2023. So I don't know what's going on now.
Hi
I think you've replied to me instead of the original op. BP affects people differently, a BP reading of 96/76 would be considered normal though on the low side. My husband's BP has been as low as 85/55 but although his medical team wasn't happy about it he didn't feel ill with it.
Unfortunately it can be difficult getting appts with a GP but it is something that you need to persevere with, try not to read anything into someone's facial expressions as we really have no idea of what someone is thinking. Meanwhile when you're feeling poorly then I would always suggest phoning 999 if it's an emergency, or nhs111 and or a trip to A&E.
Good luck
I had high BP and started meds 2 years ago. This year it's been going down and I spoke, several times, to GP, and the 2 meds were reduced a few times and one was eventually stopped. My lowest was 95/56, and I felt rubbish, I didn't even realise how bad I felt until I started to feel better, so I can't imagine how rotten you feel. The most annoying thing for me is that when I'm in a medical setting it really rockets up, at a cardiology appointment it was 190/109, so it's important for me to monitor it at home.
The big problem here could be you having falls! Bisoprolol took my HR down to low 50’s, it’s NO GOOD for me. Now on Dronedarone and tgg he are doing the same 😤
Meds have a lot of controversial effects 😳
my HR gos low over night so have to make sure if I get up I go slowly to get up.
