hi . I know I would expect to bruise easily being on blood thinners , but is it normal to just develope a bruise without even knocking into anything . Have a bruise on tummy this morning and no recollection of it happening ?-anyone else having this problem . I’m on aspirin and clopidogrel

I had the same problem when I started my blood thinners , still get a small bruise now if I knock into something , and when I cut myself it takes a bit of time to heal

I didn’t early on but I’ve had a few knocks in last week and one bruise looks like someone’s sunk their teeth into my forearm and got a whopper on my thigh.

But I noticed a reddish one on the inside of my leg just above ankle and no idea how got that one. It’s like a series of red lines.

Also if I grip something or hold on tight to something I seem to either hit a vein on my fingers you can see it raised and purple and it really hurts. Could be a nerve though but definitely purple. The pain is really sharp. Settles after a bit. Not sure related to taking blood thinner.

On clopidogrel!

I think this is absolutely normal, according to my husband who’s been on clopidrol for twenty years

I'd be interested in this answer too. I've always been slightly prone to easily bruising and I was warned it would increase because of the various meds I'm on after a HA and angioplasty in December.I woke up to several new bruises on my legs/knees today and I have no recollection of knocking them. Weird.

i am sorry to say that this seems to be completely "normal" - and the bad news is that is also seems to get worse with age as the blood vessels get more fragile

i don't have this myself (not on anticoagulants any more) but my mother does and she finds it increasingly distressing

if anyone knows of anything which helps i would love to hear about it
