had stent put in rca on Tuesday . The pain in my arm is horrendous and hot to the touch . Is this to be expected with the trauma ? And the acid reflux is quite bad . Reading up on it could be side effect to clipidogrel . Any here had similar issues

yes the arm pain can get intense, especially if you stress your arm or in certain positions. My arm got noticeably better after one week but wasn’t back to normal for about three weeks.

I experienced the same following an angiogram (and extensive bruising) but it gradually cleared up and after a few weeks.

Fortunately, the Lanzoprazole seemed to prevent the side effects of the Clopridogrel for the 12 months I was taken both. This may take time but there are alternatives if this doesn't alleviate the acid stomach symptoms for you and it might be worth consulting your GP if so.

I hope this helps. 🙂

Try famotidine instead. I react badly to the "azoles". I do occasionally have to take a double dose but I find it works better than the azoles did.

Hi late Dec 22 after a few days of "indigestion" I was admitted to hospital & had the usual angio & 5 stents. Afterwards my right arm from the access point to my elbow was literally black for weeks with some purple for contrast. I recall it was uncomfortable, which looking at it would be expected, but it was never hot to the touch, which I would associate with infection. Maybe, to be on the safe side, it might be worth a call to either the rehab team or your GP surgery nurse to get it checked. Others will comment on the meds - all I'd say was it took me months for my body to become accustomed to them, but even so that was much better than the possible alternative. I wish you well.

I’m expecting to have a stent fitted some time over the next few weeks and now I’m worried! 3 weeks for the arm to feel ok! A black arm! Acid reflux! And here was me looking forward to being well again…

hi, really sorry to hear about the problems with your arm. Please see your GP or call the rehab team as soon as possible - I had a severe infection in my right arm after having a post HA stent fitted. It cleared up just fine with 2 courses of antibiotics, and my other arm (used for a 2nd stent at the same time as the first one caused a problem) was perfectly ok without even any bruising. Good luck.

It shouldn't be hot to touch. See your GP. After my first stents they removed the pressure bandage too early and my arm was black from wrist to elbow but never painful or h ot
