Well I am now on what they are calling maximum optimisation of my Heart Failure medication. Initially I did feel I was improving but over the past few weeks I feel that my health is now worse than when I was first diagnosed. Was out in the car yesterday had to pull over as I felt like I was about to pass out. My echocadiogram was booked for 17th but unfortunately due to the stupid junior Drs strike its been moved back to the 25th. And for whatever bizarre reason my condition is only visible on echocadiogram. My 24 hours, ECG, and 72 hours don't show the reality of how unwell I am.

Sorry about the long rant but feeling totally at a loss with no end insight. I am literally unable to do anything even simple tasks. Like a shower ( in an adapted bathroom) makes me nearly pass out.

Aww im so sorry to hear how much your struggling πŸ’”. I hope they can bring your appointment forward sounds like you definitely need to see your cardiologist or if that takes to long just see your gp and see if they will do a referral x

Thank you, I am on a virtual ward which there said I would be on for 2 weeks. But we are now 2 months on and I am still on the virtual ward. I have to take my blood pressure, and weight every day. And I told them how I am feeling. But they said due to drs strike there is no way to bring my appointment forward. To behonest it feels like I am slowly slipping away. But hope they sort it before it happens

That's the thing blood pressure is always in normal range. That's the weirdest thing even when they broke the news of servere heart failure.

Wow that is odd? X maybe some things don't affect your blood pressure.

Hello :-)

I am so sorry when I read your post and I totally understand the feelings of anxiety you must be going through and the frustration to and the last thing you needed was your appointment been put back

Sometimes the way they word things can not be as bad as they sound and there is always hope things will improve I have read so many posts where people were feeling desperate and then with changes of medications all of a sudden things improved try and I know it will not be easy at all but to believe you could be one of these people to :-)

If a good rant helps you get through another day while you are waiting you come on and have a rant always someone will listen even if they do not have all the answers but it makes a difference knowing someone is listening :-)

I have heard of these virtual wards at least you are at home and they are keeping a close eye on you while you are waiting which I know I would want to rant having to wait another week I would no doubt be screaming to be honest but take a day at a time and before you know it your appointment will be here

Let us know how you get on :-) x

I am on the optimal medication for heart failure even though I am now stable. At first I felt terrible, almost passing out, couldn't do the shopping on my own, etc, but gradually my body got used to the medication. My cardiologist says they advise patients to push through this time for the benefits in the long term.

That's the thing I felt really great and I was improving. Since I started in early September. It's a recently that I have gone down hill again. I literally couldn't get out of the car until I took the Spray. Then had to lay down for a while waiting for it to pass. And it started working. The other day. And now I just bent over to pick a couple of bits the cats knocked on the floor and it's given me palpitations

Yes, that's how I was until I got used to the drugs. I even fainted from taking two squirts of GTN. I suggest talking to your doctor/cardiologist and try to get some anwers.

I have told my Cardiac Nurse, but they have not said the symptoms are due to medication rather they too are awaiting my Echocadiogram. And the fact they were supposed to discharge me to community Cardiac Team after 2 weeks but 2 months on I am still under Virtual ward makes me wonder why.

so sad to read your post - it is the waiting without support that is the worst. Hope you get the help you need soon.

Sorry to hear what you are going through right now and how difficult it must be for you. I hope when your body adapts to the new medications you will feel better. This time of the year is always the worst when we are sick. It will soon be spring and by that time hope you will tell us how much better you are. Love and prayers.
