So I had the mammogram and ultrasound. Imaging shows a 2cm lump stuck to the breast. The consultant says it is cancer and will be confirmed by the biopsy. Lucky it's caught early and doesn't look like it's spread to the lymph nodes.
The plan is breast conservation therapy. A lumpectomy and radiotherapy.
I also saw my heart surgeon today who says he is happy with my progress , considering the team thought my brain wouldn't survive the CABG.
I have plenty to be positive about..! Naturally I'm upset but I'll rise to this new challenge!

I am so sorry it has turned out to be cancer but I am pleased when I read on they look like they have caught it quick and treatment can be done even though I admire how you have the strength to cope with this but we are here to try and help support you if you need us
On a positive it is good your heart surgeon is pleased with your progress x
Thank you! It really has meant a lot to me that I can reach out to the community and I'm absolutely certain I'll continue to do so!I hope all is good with you.
Sorry to hear you have received a cancer diagnosis. Your results do sound good and found quickly too which is excellent. Hope your recovery is quick you have such a positive outlook I'm sure it will be. Best wishes 💪😊
Sorry to hear about your diagnoses, but I’m glad they caught it in time.
My blood pressure goes low and I feel like I’m going to pass out, and have done, so I know how you feel, that’s why most of the time I don’t wanna go too far on my own in case. At least I know mine is caused by all my blood pressure lowering tablets.
I hope once you begin treatment and get over another hurdle you end up having a happier year. At least your other procedure went well. All the best.
Like everyone else I'm sorry as well to hear of your diagnosis. On a positive note it has been caught early. I admire your positive attitude. Best wishes to you for a speedy recovery.
Just as an aside, I had a large lump diagnosed almost ten years ago . After mastectomy, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and eight years of tablets - here I am!!alive and kicking!
I am a fellow traveler having had that very same experience in 2011. Lumpectomy - Radiation - Tamoxifen (for 5 years). It was outpatient surgery and what I remember most is when I was in the recovery room they gave me what I swear was the best turkey sandwich I have ever eaten. If I can answer any questions for you, please let me know. Best of luck with your surgery.
Thanks for sharing, I love that you still recall the turkey sandwich 😋I've been told I'll likely have a short stay in hospital due to other health issues and risk.
Sounds to me like you’re tackling life’s challenges head-on with positivity and good for you girl! Seems like you’re turning into Superwoman 😉 I am hopeful that all will turn out well for you. I always thought once I’d had my first ‘big thing’ life would leave me alone and I wouldn’t have any other challenges to face, unfortunately life’s not like that is it. So, keep the faith (whatever it may be) and we will all look forward to your postings so that we might help support you. Sue 🙏
Hi Sue, Thank you, in truth ATM I feel like I am living in an alternate reality.
I think the only way to deal with our challenges is to face then head on and I often wonder how much we can actually deal with, it seems to me quite a lot. I'll continue to dig deep!
