I spent yesterday trying to relax and not worry about my high blood pressure. I did a couple of readings yesterday and they were still high
At 1am this morning I woke up with chest pains so I called 999, they did an ECG and took my blood pressure, and was taken up to a&e once again (I'm on first name terms with the doctors there now) at 7am I was finally seen but a cardiologist who sent me and for an echocardiogram. Around 9 Mum arrived (I called her about 6:30, but told her not to come, at least she waited a few hours) I had a few more ECGs and BP readings, I think they said ECG isn't bad but it's not good and my BP is still high.
After waiting a few more hours for various tests results, and waiting to see if I was going be admitted or not. It was finally decided at 2pm I could go home but with a 24hr holter.
At around 4pm I was finally discharged.
I'm now home

I’m sorry to hear about this, V. I’m glad they did all the checks and there was nothing too concerning. I hope the holter picks up on perhaps, why you were having the chest pain if there is something wrong. Fingers crossed it was just a small blip 🤞🏽.
Sorry to hear of your setback. How are you feeling now? It seems like you’re getting good care. Take it easy until you find out what’s causing it. All the best xx
You did the correct thing calling 999. It must have been very stressful with blood pressure and pain. You needed to know you are ok. Hope it all calms down. Give yourself a bit more “me” time and calm the work load V. It really is early days for your body to adjust to being so busy. Sorry to nag but you are more important. Get well soon.
Hi V, thank you for letting us know. Absolutely the right choice to go to A and E. I really hope this gets sorted soon. Do you think you might have been pushing yourself too hard? Please take care, it is still early days for you.Judi xx
Ahh V you poor thing x sorry just saw your post, how you feeling now?? Did they say what's causing the high blood pressure maybe they should a arrange a 24 hour blood pressure monitor I had one it's annoying it's randomly starts measuring it while your trying to sleep and squeezing your arm lol.
You did all the right things and got the checks needed. It’s a worry for you and your mum but you might have worked out the answer that you were pushing forward too fast.
Take care rest and try and hopefully you will be back on target in a few days.
Sorry to hear you had another visit to A and E, but it was obviously for the best. It's about time that they got your situation properly diagnosed and sorted. Hopefully the holter will provide the necessary information to enable the cardiac team to respond as appropriate.
Sorry to hear you have been unwell again. Hope they find the problem from the readings soon. Just need to learn to slow down and pace yourself. I know its difficult because you are still young. I am 67 and still struggle to slow down and change the habits of a lifetime. Take care. Brian
I've been sleeping most of the day, I've gone back to the hospital to give the holter back. I'm feeling a bit better today. I was meant to be on a girl's day today but I'm just joining them at the end to see a certain pink movie lol (Barbie)
Hi V, hope you are feeling a bit better. Did you have some blood work done in hospital? How scary to have to call 999 for chest pain ,hope the holter test gives you some answers.
