A few of you will have noticed that I have not been active for a while. Three medical issues have dominated my life\:
i) Macerated wounds on my right (only) foot. After a change of protocol those on the leg and heel healed whilst those around the forefoot and toes improved. Unfortuneately a few weeks ago the gradual improvement stopped and is now reversing (very worrying). On Thursday I finally got agreement for an MRI scan four months after it was first discussed.
ii) Learning to walk yet again. The approaching two years as I waited for revision surgery did my quads no favours and I am still struggling to regain full strength. However, on Thursday I dis walk about 20 yards with just two sticks.
iii) Phantom pain. I have now had a change of medications I was getting exhausted by lack of sleep due to severe phantom pain. On Friday I was expecting a call to discuss this but it never came and I subsequently found out the surgery closed at 2:00pm. When I was working we used to finish a few hours earlier on Christmas Eve but it was two days away. Overall I am fed up with people, like the local council and outpatient appointments, going home early on a Friday (anything from 2:00pm on) as many are working from home anyway.
I addition I am trying to move away from Over-60s living!

I'm so sorry to hear of all your problems, you have got such a strong spirit and i can see that is being sorely tested at the moment. I wont say keep your chin up is of no use to you at all. But i will wish you a heart felt Merry Christmas and hope that 2024 is better for you. Heres wishing you a all that you wish for yourself in 2024.
So sorry to hear about your medical issues, sometimes life just sucks 😩 I really hope you have a lovely Christmas and the New Year brings you better health. These last couple of years have been rough on you.

It sounds like a very tough time for you Michael and so frustrating to experience so many delays. I hope that 2024 will bring healing and an improved way of life for you.
I had noticed that we hadn’t heard from you for a while and was hoping you were ok. Obviously you were far from ok, which I’m very sorry to hear. However, the walking progress is very positive, well done. I'm sure that it is a big and tiring challenge but I think you are a determined person.
I do send you my very best wishes for the other concerning issues and for managing to move to an appropriate place for you.

So sorry to h ear of your ongoing problems. We've missed you. I have a friend who has just started with similar wounds but his GP has jumped right on it . They seem to improve quickly but then another one breaks out. I've no idea what they are using but it is worrying and must be more so for you. I've lived 30 years with chronic nerve pain but at least I know what it is. Phantom pain must be so frustrating. My very best wishes for things to improve for you.
I was thinking about you just the other day and wondering why you were so silent, so good to hear from you even if your troubles are still there. I was thinking about Valentina too, who has also posted today and them Be Kind and Buddy Blue, who don’t appear to be active. I will just have to keep looking at site!
I have tried to find her in members on here but she does not seem to be showing up
She was still a member a while back as I messaged her and I am wondering if she has left which I hope not , I shall keep looking and let you know or someone else may let us know how she is x

Things have not got any better for her but she seems like they have not got any worse which is something and I am glad even though she does not come on the Community there s still away like messaging her that we can ask how she is x
I'm very sorry to hear things have been so difficult for you Michael. We too have had an incredibly difficult year adjusting ourselves to worsening & newer health limitations & our property to be more disabled friendly. I really hope you manage to have a good Christmas & I hope things improve for you massively in 2024.
Hello Michael. I've only just had your post. You've been through such a lot over the past couple of years and hopefully that MRI scan will prompt better treatment. I agree wholeheartedly with you about 'early closing'!
Lets hope 2024 will be a better year for all of us.
