My doctor prescribed 10mg of Lercanidipine 5th Oct, so just 5 days ago but since I've been taking it I haven't been able to leave the house because of extreme nausea and dizziness. Every day I hope the side effects will lessen but woke up this morning crying because nothing had changed. Is this reaction to the tablets normal? I don't think I can tolerate another day feeling so ill.

Lercanidipine horrible side effects!
If you believe you are suffering from unpleasant side effects from medication you should discuss that with your GP. Whilst there is a possibility that the side effects may diminish in time, that may not happen, but by contacting the GP you can at least establish that, and also the possibility of changing to something else. Medication is here to help not make life difficult for us.
I was on Amlodopine and switched to Lernacidipine because I had a bit of leg swelling. That didn't change the leg swelling but I have had no side effects from Lernacidipine and been on it for a few months now. I think if the side effects you describe were normal, they wouldn't prescribe it to anyone. As Lowerfield said, you need to contact your GP.
Did you stay on Lercanidipine? I have also been on 6 days now and am struggling. Did your side effects diminish?. I am due to drs in 2 weeks although if feelings of weakness and light head don’t lift soon I will ring Dr for a chat. I had been on Amlodipine and changed due to swollen ankles.
did you stay on lercanidipine?
I agree that you really should report these symptoms to your doctor to see if they are due to Lercanidipine. I’ve been taking it for over a year and have never been aware of any side effects at all.

hi, I had a horrific time with Lercanidipine, my blood pressure was still high but the nurse said to continue to take them. 2 hospital a&e visits and the doctor said he can’t change me medication it has to be my gp! I was on them for nearly a month and my side effects were, feeling EXTREMELY dizzy, headaches, severe anxiety and feelings of dread, tachycardia, exhaustion even though I had no energy to do anything as the weird dizzy sensation was making it difficult to even walk!! The paramedics said it’s actually quite common to have these side affects with this medication. I’ve now been off them 3 days with my Gp’s approval and I have another appointment next week as I couldn’t face trying a new medication. How long after you stopped taking them did your side effects lessen? Im still feeling awful and it’s been 3 days
