Unsure if this is heart or stroke or med related but hoping maybe some info here may help, no issues before hearing wise . i seem to get hearing loss in 1 ear right side only for example of how bad, the storm last night I did not hear at all and i fell asleep left ear down so right ear didn't hear nothing, day time fine but takes a few hours in the morning to clear or is it tinnitus?? I started rampirill that didn't agree then candestsrten for heart attack that's the only change I can think that coincides with hearing loss.

Hello :-)

It could be anyone of the things you have mentioned that is causing it or it could be something totally different to what you think might be the cause

I would make an appointment with my Doctor and let them get to the bottom of why this has started to happen

Let us know how you get on :-) x

I had a CABG x2 21 years ago when I was 46. I had tinnitus previously but no hearing issues then. In my fifties I was aware of hearing issues so was referred to an audiologist who said that my hearing loss could be due to vascular insufficiency or inherited disease of the cochlea and that I would need to wear hearing aids before I retired. I started wearing hearing aids in 2015 when I was 60.

First thing is to get it checked

I'm getting an appointment sorted and will see where things go, I've had heart issues since birth so been on meds a long time and have poor circulation, just a worry if I can't hear things like fire alarms or something if I lay on one side. I'm 35 but if it will help ease worry I'm open to anything 😊

I suggest asking for a appointment from Audiology to get your hearing assessed. If it is compromised you can get adaptations, audiology will be able to advise but most of them are sold by private companies Action on Hearing Loss is a good place to contact too, you can find them on the web. I am hard of hearing and have a special alarm clock with a vibrating pad that goes under the pillow, a loud doorbell with flashing light in the living room and a special land line.

As for the medical causes, I generally look on the leaflets which come with the drugs and also online to check for side effects. GP's are not always up to date with that sort of information though they may know about other medical causes.
