I had a heart attack at the beginning of May followed by Pericarditis. I had angioplasty procedure. My recovery is going well albeit slowly.
The area that I am looking for some advice on is the pain that I have felt in my upper arms since then. I thought this would have subsided but mI still have it. It feels like a muscle pull in the biceps and a constant ache with very sharp pain when I move them a certain way. The physiotherapist thinks is a rotor cuff issue but it is certainly not my shoulder and further down in the bicep.
Just wondering if anyone had experienced similar?
Thanks

If it is Rotator cuff injury then it can apparently, be helped with exercise. I checked reputable web sites.
‘Before exercising, warm up your muscles and tendons in a warm shower or with a heating pad. You may experience some mild soreness with muscle-toning exercises — ice applied to the shoulder should help relieve it’
It also states that rotator cuff injury can hurt not just at the shoulder, but further down the arm, too.
I often have arm and hand pain with myopericarditis... I suspect it's more to do with the nerve than anything else but I obviously can't be certain.
Cardiologist doesn't seem concerned about it so I'm just keeping an eye on it. I'd suggest seeing your doctor if you are concerned though to get checked out.
Hi I had heart attack in September,100 percent blockage right artery. I had 3 stents fitted in March.this year. Since my attack I have had severe muscle aches in both arms that leads to severe shooting pain in both arms. Have been told by my cardiologist that mine are definitely muscular pains also in my chest. My doctor is trying to get to the bottom of it changing and stopping medication yet still it goes on. I am just on Bisoprolol and chemydor and the statin has been changed to ezetimibe as thought the pain could be statin induced. I am absoloutely gutted that nearly a year on this pain is still here. I hope they can get to sort yours out for you It’s horrible x
Hi CrowortakI am getting similar pains in both arms since my stents were put in last September. I have tried to get my medication changed but the doctors are convinced it's not the meds. I have been told its caused by a some arthritis in the neck causing nerve pains. Very frustrating and a causes anxiety. What can you do?
Hi LaceyLadyThanks for your advice. I have had 8 sessions of physio massage and dry cupping. It did make difference to be fair. The doctors say there is wear and tear in the neck area and gave neck exercises to do. It could be because I have been using computer keyboard for far too long now. And my HA has triggered something I guess. I don't know. You just have to carry on and be grateful for everything we still have.
Qigong is fantastic for regaining health. I had an angioplasty a few years ago and after a year and a half qigong I feel fitter and healthier than I have for years. I’m almost 58 but feel 20 years, or more, younger. Dao yin is even better! Very gentle exercises, very, very gentle.
