Right Arm Pain

Hi All, Had a triple bypass just over a year ago and have been fine, a couple of twinges but nothing too substantial. Over the past couple of hours I have had pain in my right arm and whenever I stretch my arm there is pain in my chest and top of my shoulder. Has anyone had this happen. Have I just overdone it a bit. Moved house two weeks ago and its been non stop ever since. I have an annual check up with the hospital on Tuesday so can mention it then if it continues. Thanks in advance. J x

There would be no harm in giving 111 a call!

Called 111 this morning as had some pain in my chest too. They called an ambulance, did tests when they got here. ECG etc all fine. Just relaxing today.

You may have hit the nail on the head with saying about your recent move. Took me a while to sort mine out but found it was primarily from hanging curtains up - now don't do the outstretched arms bit to be on the safe side. I agree mention it at your check up but try and rest a bit as well. Pleased to hear response via 111 worked out OK.

It may have been throwing the ball for the dog! Although the pain runs across the top of the right hand side of my chest. Thanks for your reply x

Think you've pulled a muscle in your arm. But glad you went got it checked out. X

Its still quite sore, the ambulance men suggested I get an appointment with my GP anyway. Thanks for replying x

Hi.. I have very similar problem...had a bypass three years ago...what can happen is you get imflamation of the rib cage...the pain will travel down your arm....it quite worrying as it feels like angina...I get mine on the left...your can strain...this will bring it on...avoid lifting through your chest..use your legs...pain killers don't really help...just take the edge off..hot cloth on the chest helps...and try to relax..Thanks.

Thanks Mex2253 it seems to have gone now so will be careful in the future to not lift anything too heavy and not throw the ball for the dog, x
