It’s taken me sometime to get back to u all, but I’ve been very ill and didn’t speak to anyone for 3 days, inc people on the heart ward I’m now on.
I came in on Wednesday, not feeling great at all, but after seeing the surgeon he said I was too I’ll to have the op, He then confused me by saying he was thinking of Tavi again, and if the team he first asked still won’t do it, (due to my size) he would ll find a team that will. I have to say he has scared me a bit because he told me all the bad stuff about tavi.
Since Wednesday night I haven’t been able to breathe much at all and went into my shell, no tv, no reading, etc I just stared at the walls , it was frightening and u mean frightening
They decided yesterday to put me in water tabs as I had them no of flour on my lungs, I thought they were wrong but today all of a sudden I can breath pretty good at rest so I’ve suddenly decided to speak to ether world again
I’ll let you know what’s sad tomorrow but I don’t think the op will appear yet as the consultant is off for 2 weeks

I’m sorry the op was cancelled due to you being ill. I’m glad you’re feeling a little bit better to come on here and give us an update. Please focus on resting and getting better now. As you say, the consultant is off for 2 weeks, so I can’t imagine they will be rushing to get the operation done soon.
Rest and gain as much of your energy back as you can for the meantime.
Sorry to hear you were unable to have your op due to illness but the surgeon will want to ensure that when it does happen it will be done in the best way for you Hold on and trust them

What a scary time you have had. But you are in the right place, and it sounds like they are looking after you, and sorting out what made you feel so awful.

So sorry to read this to to learn that your op was cancelled due to your illness. Please rest and focus on getting better and hopefully when surgeon gets back you will have more information. Meanwhile take care of yourself.
Hang in there Highburyted, hopefully they will schedule the op when the surgeon gets back. What's a Tavi? Will you be staying in hospital until s/he comes back? Take it easy and like all the others say, rest 👍
What a shame things couldn’t go ahead as planned. The main thing is to get you well first so that when you have the op. You will get over it quickly. I do really feel for you. Your mind must have been all over the place. I too am under Basildon hospital. I was told I would be referred for a pressure wire test, I have been trying to confirm this and to find out wait times. I phone several times this week and yesterday had a call back to say they can see I’m down for an appointment with Dr Savage ( consultant) but 3 month waiting list) may I ask who you are under. I will have to cancel my holiday at the end of September . I already cancelled one in February. I know my insurance wouldn’t cover me if I’m awaiting a procedure, Good luck HighburyTed. hello, my consultant is a Dr Singh who specialises in keyhole but because of my COPD and weight hes now back tracked to tavi which is now n invasive but that team has already said they won’t find a vein

I am sorry you are feeling so low but can understand. The wait for anything is so long and plays on our minds but to get yourself mentally prepared for your op. Then to feel unwell and it is put back … well that’s a lot to deal with. Glad you are starting to feel a bit better hopefully you will be well enough soon and it can go ahead. All the best
HiMy journey is a bit different from yours, but I understand the position where we don't feel up to communicating with the outside world and look for answers inside ourselves.
I agree with what BK says above about the nurses. Although they were very busy, they were very helpful in making me come to terms with the uncertainties of life and putting things into perspective when I was having some crazy dreams.

thank you, I’m not in very good mental place at the moment, when your on a ward ( very pleased to be here) at the w/e, all u can do is stare at the walls, and no matter how much you try you just think the work, ever seen a 67yr old cry - well I did with one of the nurses. I am trying believe me to be upbeat but I’m not a simple case, having COPD has assisted with weight gain so they really have to decide what to do. So I will see what tests are in store for tomorrow
