Hi everyone just to update you all, I had a blood test on Monday which was needed to check everything before my procedure on the 25th . Had a phone call yesterday and was told since December my red blood cells had been going lower over last three blood tests. Because of the blood thinner I would need to take before test and after for a year if stent needed, then they wouldn’t go ahead until reason for this can be found and sorted. Very disappointed but want everything to be ok before test/stent. Made appointment this morning to speak to Gp and hospital have sent through blood test results and will also be writing to Gp. Hope it’s not another three months wait again. Hope you are all doing well. Will update once I have any news .
cancelled procedure : Hi everyone just... - British Heart Fou...
cancelled procedure
I am sorry to hear your procedure has been delayed but it is better to be safe than sorry. The doctors seem like they know what they are doing and you are in good hands. I really hope if your surgery is scheduled again, it isn’t too far away.
Good luck.
Tos
Hello
I can imagine how disappointing this must be but you are right to look at the positive which is you want everything to be ok before they go ahead and now we can see why all these tests are so important before we have procedures done
I am sure they will get things on track so as soon as they can they can go ahead and talking with your Doctor will hopefully give you some peace of mind
Try and stay positive and I hope you will let us know how you get on x
Thank you, I have seen Dr and she is getting a blood test done for me at the surgery tomorrow early so results don’t take too long. Urine being tested over three days and an appointment booked for next week. X
Aw I can imagine how disappointed you must be feeling & I'm so sorry. I'm sure your GP will get to the bottom of this & you'll be back on track asap xx
Do you know if the hospital has referred you to Haematology? If not I would suggest that you request for the GP to refer you and ask for an urgent appointment because you have had to have surgery cancelled until you get answers for the decrease in your blood results.
It's unlikely that the GP will be able to do the tests or have the knowledge to answer and solve the problem for you at GP surgery level unless the problem was something simple like anaemia or nutrient Deficiency so getting a referral is better organised as quickly as possible.
Hope you get the answers you need soon, take care , Bee
Sorry to hear procedure was cancelled
One of my blood tests showed aenemia but b12 & iron tablets have sorted that
Hope yours is a simple fix
