Bisoprolol concerns

Iv asked this many times. Hopefully il get someone who gets same symptoms. Since taking bisoprolol I feel like I'm getting angina like symptoms tightening, throbbing down my arms burning in my chest when exerting. Walking uphill etc. Iv had scan on heart and results were my Ateries are clear. Doc wants more rest to determine whether it could be small vessels and Ateries less serious that's causing problems. I didn't have the symptoms before taking tablets.

What dose of Bisoprolol are you taking? It may be a bit too high a dose for you. Please see your GP and say what you have said here.

I'm on relatively low dose but still think it's causing these symptoms. Drs said it's not possible.

Reading your other posts it seems like you have worried about the possible side effects of Bisoprolol for a little while now. It might be worth you again contacting your GP and ask about an alternative medication that will do the same job . It is always hard to pin down aches and pains to one drug but by changing it you would soon know and hopefully it will help with your symptoms .

I am lucky and on 5mg a day I have no problem with this particular medication, but we are all different.

Hope you get it sorted soon, please keep us informed

When i walk uphill it feels like someone sitting on your chest. I also take bisoprolol. I wondered if its the drug or something else.

Hi. I think it could be bisoprolol but drs are not convinced.

Hi Fifimyangel I can’t take beta blockers for small vessel Microvascular Angina. I’ve only 40% artery blockage no stents required. They gave me calcium blockers Diltiazem instead. I don’t get the symptoms you described here on them. Hope this helps? Best wait for Drs investigations though 😊

Hi I had problems like yours with this drug. After months of feeling terrible and worrying visits to A&E my Doctors inhouse Chemist suggested I try taking the drug at night just before bed. This has worked wonders and I am still able to take the drug and no problems in the day time. It seemed everyday movement in the day was causing the problems with the drug. I tried this before changing the drug as you never know what problems a new drug can cause. Hope you get it sorted out and you feel better soon x

Hi I am having exactly the same the doctor dropped the Bisoprolol down to 1.25mg and hasn’t made any difference. The muscle aches and cramps in the top of my arms are horrendous I sometimes can’t even wash my hair. I am not on any other beta blockers s they took me off the other 3 two months ago. I have shortness of breath in bouts and have chest discomfort. I am seeing my doctor and hoping I will be taken off it as I totally believe this tablet has side effects that are definitely not agreeing with me. X

others have already suggested some points i might have made so i won't repeat them, but if you have any pre-existing breathing issues beta-blockers can make them worse, causing symptome like those you describe

i found out that i had undiagnosed asthma after i had taken bisoprolol for a while and stopped because of the side effects - the asthma is now being treated and i have had no further issues with it - in fact my general health has improved considerable and i think that it must have been quietly draining me for years

maybe ask your GP do do a quick peak-flow reading as a starting point?
