I’ve been taking bisoprolol since October but now am getting bad side effects. About two hours after taking a 2.5 dose am feeling a bit breathless/panting occasionally with a hot feeling and needing to lie down.
BP is good with pulse at around 70 bpm.
In the absence of ringing a gp it feels the dose is too much.
Anyone else get symptoms like this?

There are many alternatives to bisoprolol that may suit you better.
But I must mirror Thatwasunexpected and agree with him that it is unusual to start getting the side effects now on such a small dose, but we are all different.
Please don't stop the medication yourself, if needed phone 111 and follow advice
many thanks all - I’ve felt good since being prescribed them. I started on 5 but these wiped me out so we’re cut to 2.5 and was stable until this past three weeks
lol - I’ve no chance. I ll send an online consultation tonight/ e consult.!that might help me. Nothing worse than trying to talk through issues to a receptionist
many thanks. My partner seems to think this has been happening since my latest bout of covid; around 6 weeks ago. I ll try to speak with my Dr tomorrow.
I was prescribed 5mg twice daily. I had numerous side effects including the ones you have stated. I also had tiredness, weakness and vomiting. The hot feeling used to come and go in waves and finally I had to stop work due to the side effects. I stopped taking it with medical agreement and the side effects disappeared. I find all beta blockers difficult to tolerate as well as calcium inhibitors.
I had cardioversion for AF last week and now have been prescribed Ivabradine Zentiva which I tolerate well with very few side effects. It does make me a little breathless but nothing near the scale of bisoprolol.
