Recently I have been prescribed 3.75mg Bisoprolol and 1mg Doxazosin. After a few days of taking the combined medication , if I walked a few yards I would get tight chest and shortness of breath. It is so severe I feel like I am going to suffocate and pass out. Is this a issue with these dosages been took together???
I take venlafaxine for anxiety; Bisoprolol for high blood pressure(avg 140/94) and doxazosin for enlarged prostrate. I am under 3 different doctors for the 3 illnesses and they seem to think they should not be a problem taking all this meds together. Just to add I do have a mild cardiomyopathy issue.
It has got to the stage where I have stopped taking the Bisoprolol and Doxazosin past 2 days as I am scared of having a heart attack.

I would suggest you go and speak to your local pharmacist today - they have extensive training in medicines and their interactions so would be able to advise better.
I'd never advise to stop taking medication without seeking medical advice first as you are prescribed these things for a reason - but do try to speak to speak to the pharmacist today.
I found the same symptoms and also put it down to the bisoprolol but I think you need to get medical advice before you just stop especially if you are other things too
I managed to consolidate advice and get completely new medication from my local hospital cardiac unit
Now feeling so much better exactly the same as you couldn’t walk without chest pains very distressing
Best get in touch with your doctors and get checked out. I just take 1x 4mg tablet of Doxazosin morning and teatime and have no problems. Hope you feel reassured soon. Brian
