Hi everyoneI had a mid heart attack 2021 and have been on Omeprazole since then, my current everyday tablets are candesartan, aspirin, rosuvastatin, Bisoprolol plus the Omeprazole.
I am querying Omeprazole as is it says not for long term use on the NHS. As I am on the meds above is there a need for long term Omeprazole?
I take that for acid reflux myself I have been on omeprazol or its equivalent for over 30 years .its on my automatic prescription review but even though I have questioned it over the years I'm still throwing it down my gullet once a day .you could enquire about it again but if like me you will get the same answer .Good luck
Ditto the above. I've been on Omprazole for nearly 40 years for Reflux Oesophagitis stage 3/ Hiatus Hernia
I take 40mgs per day, divided up into 2 doses am&pm.
Never had an issue with it, and I take the usual cocktail of heart, and other meds

It depends what you are taking them for that it says not for long term use but if we have to take something like Aspirin then the protection is needed long term and they are safe to take x

Yes. Dispersible just means that it is dissolvable. Better for your stomach lining taking enteric coated so that it breaks down and is absorbed into your blood in the small bowel. If someone has stomach ulcers that they don’t know about dispersible aspirin can cause a gastric bleed

We finally are having rain here, and I am grateful beyond words! ☔️☔️☔️ We had had no rain for over 3 weeks, and I have been carrying buckets of water daily for the flowers that I planted this year. Good for exercise I guess, but it has exhausted me. 😊 The last two days I have felt poorly.
Duvetdays15, I have also been taking Omeprazole for about 22 years. I started taking it in 1998 for gallstone/gallbladder attacks, and now also for the daily aspirin that I take. I can’t say that I am aware of any side effects that I have had as a result, but, perhaps, I am just unaware. 😊

Goodness I could have not carried all that water but I know when we have planted plants we have to do all we can to keep them alive or what a waste our Summers are one extreme to another now
We have had no rain yet supposed to have had thunderstorms yesterday and just a few drops then it stopped and today it said we were getting it again and so far it has not happened
I have to be honest I take Lansoprazole used to take them some years ago then realized they were making me feel worse so stopped them and I was fine since all these heart meds though they have had me back on them at a low dose and I suffer terrible stomach aches looking at my meds this can be one of the side effects
I take a coated Aspirin so I am talking to the Doctor tomorrow and going to see if we can ween me of the Lansoprazole and if it will be safe just to see if my stomach aches stop
Well I shall have to send my Husband out with buckets of water if we do not get some rain today my Lupins are just coming out and I do like them

hi I too take this tablet and I to take aspirin 30mins to 1 hour before I eat first meal of the day Thought it as some thing to do with the acid we make and aspirin The tablet can cause stomach problems Let’s hope some one can give us an answer
I was told to take aspirin with or after food and the Omeprazole on an empty stomach?
