Bisoprolol skin rash: Has anyone... - British Heart Fou...
Bisoprolol skin rash
yes I take 2.5mg rash very itchy on leg and left palm of hand taking done cream didn’t realise it could be the drug
If it's a skin rash and you've recently started on this medicine it could be an allergic reaction... call 111 for advice
Thanks for this . I’ve been on 3.75 mg bisoprolol for quite some time now with no problems. But the last month or so I’ve had itching in my right calf , groin area and upper chest. I thought it could be one of my medications but since everything has been ok I wasn’t sure.
Not really a rash there but can't stop scratching on my back at night, drives me nuts.
Hi Mrss25 - I developed a rash on my right wrist and the top of my right foot really quickly after starting bisoprolol last January/February. It was quite itchy, dry and raised at first but has calmed down and almost disappeared over the past year. I'm not sure though whether it was the bisoprolol that caused it or one of the other medications I've been prescribed (lansoprazole and clopidogrel). I found using a normal unperfumed hand cream really took the itchiness out of it a good deal. Carol
Dear You
Most drugs tend to affect my skin in its "hot" places, like back of knees, inside elbows and any creases that seem to appear now daily,
But they tend to disappear as fast as they come { good old Germolene } but if yours persists I would contact your Dr.
Hope you get it sorted soon
Take care
I haven’t, but it’s a known side effect. Best to see GP.
I had no rashes or itchyness But I do take mine at bed time with asprin
hi yes and my gp said I would be fine!! Not the case and it’s really bad.. come off it now
My husband developed a widespread itchy rash while on Bisoprolol in hospital 2 years ago. Although he was on a lot of other medication following major heart surgery at the time, it was thought that Bisoprolol was the culprit and it was stopped with the rash eventually settling down. Two years down the line his heart failure nurse felt it would be helpful to add Bisoprolol to his existing trio of Entresto, Dapagliflozin and Eplerenone and after some discussion he decided to give it a try. He's now been on 1.25mg daily for a couple of months and no sign of any skin rash or other reaction! Wondering what difference it would have made had he stayed on it two years ago. Almost any drug can cause a skin rash so it may be that Bisoprolol wasn't the culprit here.
My gp said I would be fine taking the drug and it would not cause a rash even though i had read it does on the leaflet. I have had to come off the drug due to the severe nature of the rash and my cardiologist who I have paid to see due to my dilema has tested me and it has been found that my heart is perfect thankfully and its the fact I drink too much tea, so i have removed all caffine and Im so much better now. I was only asking for other peoples skin issues whilst taking this as I have been so poorly
Hi, I was taking Bisoprolol for 3 years and I developed a spotty rash on my forehead! It went away not long after I stopped taking the medication.
he said it a year after the rash developed due to the reaction. I dont understand what i have said is wrong
