I tend to recommend StaySure and AllClear. Insurance to cover crusing is usually expensive because in the case of serious illness the patient might need to be airlifted off!

Not too mention insurance costs have soared in general since the V we must not mention & the various lockdowns around the world were lifted!

if you put all your details including health conditions onto compare the market insurance website. You will get loads of insurance companies willing to insure you. You do need to be completely honest otherwise you risk not being covered. Even minor conditions that aren’t related to your heart problems if you don’t tell them about those that negates all your insurance cover. I’m not sure but on our cruise we needed at least 10million pounds cruise cover. Your cruise company will also do insurance cover but it might be more expensive. So shop around on the comparison sites. Unless you are travelling against medical advice you should be able to get insurance. Good luck enjoy your cruise x

If you are going to America then you will likely find costs prohibitive.

It depends what's wrong with you.A friend of mine last week who has recently lost her husband decided to book cruise.Checked for insurance the cheapest she found was 2300 pounds because she has cancer. It is dearer than the holiday.x

I have mine through my bank - cruising covered no extra cost worldwide - just pay age extra and medical conditions extra. I can also extend my trips up to 180 days by paying extra too. Currently paying for 70 days on one trip.

Hi Tillymolly,

,Our insurance was with LV when I had heart attack abroad. The care and service they provided was excellent and the premiums for renewal the year after HA were reasonable.( Renewal Insurance was Europe only - They did not offer cover when I was looking for Caribbean insurance however )
