Hiya everyone I'm on for a bit of a rant..been waiting a year now for app with cardiologist after a minoca HA had mri scan which shows no significant heart muscle damage 😃😃. I still get chest pains/arm/shoulder and stomach haven't been able to get dental treatment for a year as she keeps referring to unstable angina and won't do it without cardiologist advice which I've never got in a year after numerous messages left on his secretary's answer machine and at this stages I badly need treatment. Had my back injections suspended until i see him so in pain with that as well and also told no flying til i see him so cancelled family holiday to san francisco and no exercise at all only gentle walking on flat ground. My life had been in limbo for a year not knowing whats happening mental health has taken a nose dive the last few months badly....has anyone had any experience in this I don't know who to turn to to ask gp no help at all. I'm in northern ireland...thank you for reading my rant I'm hist so frustrated at this stage now 😥

Hi Bran_flow

I’m sorry to hear of your heart attack and that you’ve not been able to access a cardiologist since.

After my heart attack, I picked up the phone to my cardiology department about 9 months in and demanded an appointment. I was told most people are waiting over a year however, due to a deterioration in my symptoms, I couldn’t wait any longer.

If you contact the PALS (patient advice liaison service) at your local hospital outlining that your symptoms are getting worse and you need to be seen ASAP, they may be able to expedite things for you a lot quicker.

Let us know how you get on.

All the best.

Thank you so much for your reply yes my symptoms got alot worse Feb after I returned to exercise ended up over in cardiac chest pain clinic so mri was rushed through then and was told not to exercise til I see consultant. Have had no follow up at all no rehabilitation nothing at all. Feel like only way I'll be seen now is if I take another heart attack. I will be contacting my PALS department today.Thank you so much Tos92

I'm really sorry to hear of your problems.I never got rehabilitation after my heart attack and stent fitted, was just left on my own with a large bag of tablets .

Despite being on the waiting list to see a cardiologist, contacting secretaries, chasing an appointment, I never saw one in the 15 months I was in Lincolnshire.

I'm now in North Yorkshire so if I need to see one now, I guess I'll have to start again.

I really do sympathise with your situation. The GP's are no help at all.

God that is awful treatment MrsSuzuki definitely leaves you feeling forgotten and left adrift with no answers at all. Have you never even been contacted by the rehabilitation team or any kind of follow up...that is so bad...I'm doing same contacting everyone I can to get some answers I really want to get back to running and weight lifting but was told not too til I see consultant in the next 3 months rushed through that was 4 months ago I'm starting to think it could be another year of limbo. Hopefully you won't be needing to start again now that you've moved and your heart will stay healthy.
