hi there, I recently came of them as I also been suffering with severe dizziness, balance issues, brain fog, headaches etc.

been 9 days and feel so much better. Had palpitations for the first 3 days, but that settled down.

Think the gp will look at an alternative.

Good luck !

Is there a need for an alternative if you feel so much better without?

I have also had tinnitus since 1979. My boys had mumps, I caught scarlet fever from them, (don't ask me the connection) leaving me with nerve deafness in one ear. Not long after I developed tinnitus from the noise of jackhammers used for roadworks in our street. Loud noise is a major cause of tinnitus as well.

in reply to Silvertail

My Tinnitus was caused by tractor cabs before sound proofing

Hi. I’ve just read your post. I have being taking two 2.5 mg bisoprolol a day for five years. At last maybe I’m getting nearer why my hearing has rapidly declined over the last year. I already wear hearing aids, but on my last hearing test I found my hearing had significantly deteriorated maybe now I know why. I like you also now suffer with hearing noises but in my head. I have now being diagnosed with tinnitus.I also get zapping sounds in the head, this is quite scared. I told my go of this but it feels like you are banging your head against a brick wall . My GP really shows no concern. I have not being prescribed any medication for this or any further investigations. I also suffer with thunder like noises in the head. I was putting it all down to having a low B12 but apparently I’m border line and the GP does not feel I need my B12 injections reinstated.Nice to know I’m not the only person suffering with these different symptoms.

in reply to Pollyanna23

I had a stent fitted for blood supply to hart muscle on front hart due to having it since birth was all ways feeling tired no energy over years had a hart attack eight years a go had stent fitted my energy went up strait away was on a high for a week this did not get being picked up by GP over years I will see what hospital say on Wednesday if no luck will go back GP and get bisoprolol reduced 1.5gm with outlook coming off them I never had any problems till now I think how my head is with different noises and dizziness / light headedness there's nothing to loose by giving them up

I was going to suggest testing for low B12…. Not even oral B12, with B complex too, suggested? I am very sceptical when drs.refer to ‘border line’ as they don’t know what your normal range is…it might be at the very top percentile and thus the patient needs the extra supplements/vitamins/hormones etc!

Hi ,I’ve got worsening tinnitus and my family say I’m not hearing them properly.I just started taking bisoprolol again in December,Im waiting for an aortic valve replacement and the bisoprolol do help relieve my symptoms.

Hi going through the same at the moment. I have been on 2.5mg Bisoprolol since Decemember. Have constant tinnitus low blood pressure and dizziness. Doctors dropped it to 1.25mg last week and also put me on antibiotics for an infection on the uvula. Dangly bit in throat. Antibiotics are not touching it and I think it could be the Bisoprolol causing swelling as feel like I have something stuck in my throat. I am also on lisinopril so not sure witch one could be contributing. I feel awful since taking them.I hope you get sorted soon good luck.

Hello and welcome to the forum!

Have you had the virus that cannot be mentioned here (cause of lock downs)? Shortly after having it my hearing declined and I developed tinnitus. This was blamed on ear wax and I had repeats of ear drops for months on end. Ultimately I paid for microsuction but there was minimal improvement. I have met someone who lost all hearing in one ear after having the virus.

Dizziness (sometimes accompanied by nausea) can be a sign oh hypotension. Do you measure your own BP?

The symptoms you mention (dizziness and items shifting) can be caused by inner ear problems. I had these symptoms and ignored them until one day it dot do bad I collapsed and was taken to hospital unable to stand let alone walk. I spent four days in hospital and had two brain scans. The diagnosis was Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV). This is caused by crystals forming in the inner ear as we age. There are exercises that can help alleviate the symptoms but you need a diagnosis first. So as others have suggested you must see your GP ASAP.

Ears were my specialty as a Complementary Therapist, rarely was it ear wax that caused deafness, build up of mucus in the eustation tube, thick mucus that prevents ear drainage. This then causes deafness and infection. I had a treatment regime that is very effective, but if infection was present, the patient also needed antibiotics. Tinnitus affects the auditory nerves, sadly if nerves are damaged tinnitus can be a problem.

I do know about this blood tests dident show any thing up so GP booked me appointment at hospital on Wednesday for further investigation

hello yes to deafness and balance and now have hearing aids which don’t help much sound wise but make me feel unwell !!! I just try and lip read !!!!

Hearing aids cause their own problems. They are a foreign body in the ear, so the ear produces wax to trap the article causing deafness 😵‍💫 I’ve treated ears for many years. Syringing causes more problems, water under pressure 🙄 I ONCE succumbed to it under duress! Never again.

Hi GRANDADS, I have been on bisoprolol various strengths over the last 3 years and have had no problem with it. We are all different though so perhaps a chat with your GP may help

Bisoprolol cause my bradycardia, hr very low 50’s! If I turn over in bed get weird head, dizzy 😳I have to watch how quickly I get up from bed and I’m only taking 1.25mg. Cardiologist was like 🙄 as I told him I was only taking it every other day because of the bradycardia. But had recent episodes of AF, SO, doing as I’m told ABD now git bradycardia all day 😤 Due to change from flecainide to another drug soon and also drop the Bisoprolol, hoping all the side effects will go and hope I don’t get new ones 😤

Isn’t it interesting how we are all taking similar if not same medications and we’re all suffering with the same horrid side effects.

I saw my physiotherapist last week and told him about my dizziness, he examined me and discovered l have benign positional vertigo which is quite common in folks over a certain age. He gave me exercises to do which aren’t fun cuz you get dizzy doing them but after 6days l can do them with minimal effects. Sure the triple threat cocktail of medications doesn’t help either.

This is a great place to get answers and feel supported as we’ve all had our hearts mucked about with in one way or another and it sure does help cuz we’ve all been there. Take care

Hiya yep I've been having those problems but never associated it with the medication. But it makes sense now 👍

I learnt that combining Bisoprolol with diuretics can be soothing - that diuretics tone down its adverse reactions..... Not sure though. This can be verified.

Hi all had tests done on hearing loss and dizziness and permeant ear noise they think its nerve damage so now waiting for a MRI scan fingers crossed its not anything more sinister
