I have had several episodes of chest pain and palpitations. I take statins and now 50gms of Losartin for hypertension. Also 1.25 of Bisoprolol 3 times a day.The pain and palpitations are decreasing but I feel tired a most of the time and my strength is declining. Exercise is becoming a real effort. I am 73 but have always been able to walk 6kms 3 times a week and swim 10 lengths with little effort. Now I'm lucky to get round the block!
Any thoughts? I feel the Bisoprolol dosage is perhaps too high?

I don't know the answer to your question, but was it your GP who advised taking your Bisoprolol 3 times a day? it's the first time I have seen it as 3 times a day, it seems quite a few people take it Morning and Night.
Personally I take mine around lunchtime and it is 7.5mg and I don't have a problem with it
I always walk my next doors dog most days for around a mile or so, early afternoon without problem. Age wise I will be 76 later this year and hope to be able to continue long into the future lol
I agree with Prada47, i think its more to do with the taking it three times a day, i tried this to reduce the side effects of Bisoprolol which I usually begin to feel two hours after ingestion so i thought that if i split the dose into three, the side effects would be minimal, I was wrong. Now back to morning only and the difference has been amazing. Good luck and keep us posted
That'sthe lowest dose of bisopralol but it did the same to me. I couldn't get out of the chair and slept most of the time; just dropped my BP too low. I had it changed. Sorry didn't see it was 3 times a day. I would certainly ask |GP if it's too much.
I don't know what to say my bisoprolol dose is 20mg along with ramipril-doxazosin all at the same time once in the morning and have been taking this daily dose for last several years never thought of stopping it
