Hi Ceed....sorry to hear your sufferings. If you type PAD into the search box at the top right hand corner of this page and press enter it will bring up other forum members posts and the replies which are both interesting and informative. You could contact them by reply to discuss further.

Good luck

Hi K&T

Thanks for that info. Actually I did try that but found very little. I'm probably not using the site correctry - I'm a total technophobe.

My main reason for "coming back" is to ask if anyone has used either a "Biogeneriser" or "Reviter" circulation leg revitalisers. Have just "come across" these but before buying one thought somebody "out there" may be able to advise me.

Hoping to hear from you.

Hi

Just looked up the Reviveter.

There is no mention of PAD.

It seems to work by stimulating the nerve endings in your legs.

But it was explained to me that the pain and cramps I have from PAD is from the leg muscles not getting enough blood/ oxygen.

So, if you have pain and you stop walking the muscle stops needing so much oxygen and the pain subsides.

Because the body can be very clever, it can grow collateral blood vessels to help supply the leg muscles with oxygen. Walking and exercising helps to stimulate growth of these little blood vessels.

If you can get out and walk looks like a better way to spend your time and save your money!

Hello. I have it too!!!

I was diagnosed in August last year. I have one block and several pretty bad patches dotted all over my arteries

I try to eat like a goddess to lose weight no sugar or fat :(

I walk 2 miles each day no matter the weather

45 mins on exercise bike 3 times a week

A longer walk at the weekend

And lots of medication

I have gone down 2 dress sizes

I walked for 2 hours on Saturday looking at the London Lumiere - in August I could not walk 50m without stopping

You have to walk every day, it’s not a cumulative end result, the pain returns if I miss one day

The bike really helps with the walking- I don’t know why but it does.

Let me know your story.

I have had PAD for about seven years. Four balloon angioplasties in 2013 relieved the symptoms for about 18 months. At the time a further angioplasty and a bypass were on the cards but a restructuring of vascular surgery (with the departure of my consultant) changed things to a 'watch and wait' scenario. GB is far less proactive than the US and western Europe in respect to treating this condition. Currently CVD limits me to the point I can't encounter cramps!

I have been told by two professionals that the type of device mentioned is next to useless and could potentially cause harm where sensation has ben reduced!

I've just had bypass surgery in my left leg due to a clot which I believe may have been as a result of PAD although the consultants seem to have differing opinions! I too have struggled to find information/ others who are in this situation. For the time being I'm just doing everything I can to be proactive in terms of my health while I await further tests/ consultations e.g. Healthy diet - high fiber, fish oil supplements etc As much exercise as I can do, plenty of walking, will progress to daily cycling when surgery recovery allows and most importantly have packed in the smoking! Best of luck
