Quick question about tiredness

Hi All.As it's coming up to my 4 month anniversary of when my ticker decided not to play ball it's given me time to reflect.

I'm so much better, both physically and mentally, these days although I still have my moments.

One thing I do struggle with is tiredness. I try and get out for a walk most days, usually around 3-4km, and attend rehab weekly with final one scheduled for tomorrow. Stopping Bisoprolol 3 weeks ago has given me more oomph and I sleep pretty well but there are days when I'm just whacked.

So, I was wondering how others felt after their HA and how soon before the tiredness went, or became "acceptable. I know we are all different but thought I'd ask.

I do have days when anxiety gets to me too but that's for another discussion.

Take care all.

Hi Hrty,

It’s been 15 months since my heart attack and I still suffer from tiredness and lethargy. After talking to the doctors, having blood tests ( all ok), cutting down on various heart meds, the doctors basically said that everyone recovers differently and at different speeds. I work shifts in quite a stressful job, which doesn’t help in the slightest.

4 months isn’t long after such a traumatic thing to happen, physically and emotionally in your life. I was still feeling exhausted after physical exercise or a day at work at 4 months.

Thanks for that, it's good to hear what others have experienced. I suppose I'm a bit frustrated as 4 months seems quite a while normally but you are right, in light of what's happened it's still early days and whilst they've stopped a couple of meds and reduced another I'm still on quite a few. Thanks again

I'm constantly tired, but I was before my HA

Sorry that wasn't very helpful. I think I was just getting back to "normal" before this latest event.

Hi Hrty

I am 4 months post heart attack and stents just returned to work on a phased return I am absolutely pooped at the end of a day

I am walking daily, still doing cardio rehab once a week and about to return to swimming ( gently only not sporty)

I get what you are saying I would like to have more energy than I have but I keep being told I’m doing fine and I can’t expect any more at this stage as there’s a lot of healing going on and a lot of emotional coming to terms with what’s happened so maybe in another 4 months we will bouncing about……let’s hope so

Thanks, i suspect it's me being impatient as much as anyone else. Talking to others at rehab they are also experiencing tiredness. I'm now about to enter Phase 4 now that rehab has finished. Will be interesting to see what that entails. Also been given the nod to resume swiming although I suspect 2-3km swims are on the back burner for a bit 🙂

I was utterly exhausted after my HA but most of it was down to the meds, especially bisopralol. Over 6 months I had every single tablet changed. The tiredness improved massively after stopping bisopralol but I still had periods of sudden exhaustion up to a year

Thanks, was really reassuring at rehab this morning to hear them say how far I had come from when I started. I think it's easy for us to no be quite as aware as others about that. I stopped Bisoprolol 3 weeks ago and whilst that has been a big boost I think I'm still getting used to that and other recent changes.
