It does take some getting used to, but might be worth persevering certainly helped me. Some people call it a wonder drug.

I know exactly how you feel! I have felt awful on this and still do have days. Literally straight after taking it i feel fatigued, brain fog and even leg and back pains and sometimes chest.

BUT my ef went from 12% up to 44% on this drug. That could have been also from recovery and the cardioversion. But after reading many peoples experiences on this drug, it does seem to be a wonder drug for many if they can put up with the sides.

How many days are you in to taking it? I know it took me a a few weeks to get used to the low dose. I still struggle now with the middle dose but i found a way of splitting the tablets in half to spread them out through the day., That helped me big time.

I started on lowest dose , now on 49/51. I noticed yesterday that brain fog and tiredness, but also muscle sores in left arm/neck and legs wobbly as well as all the dizziness I am on day 5 of the middle dose. three weeks on lowest dose but bloods were ok.

yes im the same since increased to middle dose over a year ago. still no different but i do split the 2 tablets into 4 and spread it out throughout the day. seems to help

Might be worth a try. They want me on the max dose in a fortnight after bloods , that is double the middle. Oh well we shall see :)

Hi. Did the lower dose improve your ejection fraction and energy level? Thank you.

Hi. When you split them did the side effects get better and can you still notice a difference in how you feel and your energy level? Cheers!

It made a huge difference to me. Don't stop taking it without consulting your cardiologist or GP.

Entresto’s main side effect is significantly lowering blood pressure which can be difficult to tolerate. Whoever prescribed it should have started you on the lowest dose to allow your body adjust and then slowly increase it until you reach your maximum tolerated dose.

My husband felt strange during his “wash out” period when he stopped taking ramipril, but generally felt so much better quite soon after taking entresto. He does get light headed briefly but nothing too bad.

Do you have a blood pressure monitor at home to use? Keep an eye on your blood pressure and see if it improves. Your body may adjust over the course of a couple of weeks. If it doesn’t improve after a couple of weeks, speak to your cardiac nurse/GP!

Hi. I found that after I eat my bp goes down significantly for about 1 1/2 hrs. Every meal, especially when I eat carbs like rice or potatoes. That’s when I have no energy until bp goes back up. Happens in the elderly most often. I’m working on ways to reduce that. Wish you well.

I rarely eat carbs except oats daily. and the odd slice of bread but not every day. I am 58., Not noticed any BP changes myself with food. Good luck to you and take care

I felt the same like my blood pressure was too low. They wanted me to take 4 a day but I felt exhausted and dizzy so I spoke to them and they said my body isn’t tolerating 4 so they put me on 2 and I’ve been ok 1 in morn and 1 evening. Some days I still feel dizzy but it might be from any of the cocktail of drugs I’m taking for heart failure because since that I’ve had another added. Also I was on different blood pressure meds which I had to wean off before taking Entresto but then I went onto another one. I feel it is a wonder drug. I was at the end of life. That was 6 years ago.

Good morning, I am currently taking middle dose, and yes it's making me feel exactly the same. However, I'm persevering because as everyone has said its a wonder drug. I have my first mri since starting on entresto in April so will be good to see if it is working!! My BP has dropped significantly though, and feel dizzy and get chest pains. I also take bisoprolol 2.5mg and will be added 2 further drugs in a couple of weeks. I have severe DCM and LVT.

Good luck xx

What feeling do you get from taking entresto? Aniexity with it? I am trying to solve this feeling of anxiety and palpitations on the regular. I do think it could be the entresto

definitely noticing the mental effects, although I do take an anti depressant also - mirtazapine at night

Yesterday I decided on my own one to split the morning dose. I felt good and my bp and hr was the same as on the full middle dose. Today I took the full morning dose. Will see how I feel. I’ve been on it for a week and will have labs in another week. Cheers!

Unfortunately Entresto did not suit me either. I was taken off it after I had a blackout. Some treatments don't suit everybody. My treatment is optimised for me with Ramapril,

Ditto BUT, one of the expected side effects is dizziness, my Nurse advised me to persevere as it is far superior to Ramiprol

Do you find that you get dizzy within an hour or so of eating ?

Same here. Very dizzy even when just sitting sometimes and espec when getting up. I am on middle dose now for a few days. A not feeling very well feeling all the time. I definitely want to stick at it though as I think the side effects will gradually go away.. Yesterday started feeling more down and tired as well.... How are you doing since your post was 25 days ago?

in reply toHeartyJames

Hi James. Yes i get this feeling of being unwell on entresto. Its literally 20 mins after taking it. a hazy, fatigue type feeling with anxiety. Its defo the drug as if i dont take it, then i feel pretty normal

Hopefully it’s causing an improvement in your heart function. The side effects should go away or so I’ve heard. I’ll put up with it as long as there’s an overall benefit. Cheers.

Just trust that it’s doing what it’s supposed to do while feeling bad, if and until you/we start feeling better.
