spots blemishes and dry patches

Hi

Not a major issue in the scheme of what most of us are living with, but if anyone has any tips I would appreciate them. 59 year old female always been fortunate in having really good, clear skin. Since HA and stent in November on the usual meds, atorvastatin, ticagrelor, bisoprolol, aspirin, mononitrate, ramipril. I get the where did that bruise come from due to the ticagrelor and aspirin but wondering if any other ladies have noticed a change in facial skin, I have spots, skin is dry and red patches with wee blistery areas that are dam annoying

Anyone got / had anything similar? Any tips or advice? Side affects of meds? Or just get on with it? 😂

hi Norton. I don’t have any answers for you only to say that I too have noticed these dry red patches and almost blistery areas in my face.

Hope someone can give us some clues.

Following my HA and bypass surgery they took veins from my leg. I subsequently had varicose eczcema which is very much like the blistery areas you describe. I don't know if having a stent would affect you in the same way. The doctor prescribed Epimax lotion for the dry skin and as the other leg is more affected, fucibet cream. Both seem pretty effective although skin problems will flare up.

Yes H.A and stent 3 years ago at 59,had clear complexion and now noticed red blotchy patches on face, just read over the weekend that statins may cause blisters on skin and red patches as a side effect,so I suppose this medication is the cause of it .

hello Norton

Ive been on bisoprolol for quite a while - 5mg a while back to 1.25 now. I always struggle with the battery completely empty feeling to start with but adjust after a few weeks. I’ve never notice any particular skin problems. I think it was quite recently you were in hospital. I’m no expert at all but I wonder if it be the remnants of shock, both emotional and physical? Whatever it is I hope it soon improves.

thanks spin-off I hope so, I lost my mum 4 weeks prior to HA and I have also stopped smoking so maybe it’s just a culmination of everything thanks for replying x

Hi. I get a few dry patches on my skin so I just use a Moisturing Cream. I do get a lot of bruising though as I am on Warfarin. I found a fantastic Camouflage Cream though Online. You have to find the nearest 'Match' to your Skin Tone etc obviously. It is called "Veil', they have their own Website, and used by Plastic Surgeons apparently. I ordered some and it is really good. It is also completely Waterproof as well. Worth a try maybe :)

No problem :). If you do get it though, get the 'Finishing Powder' to settle it in if you can. This is something I should have ordered but didn't. Then ordered it and it makes it a lot, lot, better again :)

I take statins and clopidogrel and suffer from dry skin on my face and really dry hands. I have found that using Hemp face cream and Hemp handcream from the Bodyshop really help. They do not contain steroids and in the past have used it successfully for my children who had eczema. Best wishes
