For the past few weeks my husband has been concerned about his low heart rate averaging at 47bpm. He has a pacemaker and ICD. He takes bisoprolol 2.5mg, Candesartan 32mg and Indapamide 1.5mg. He has been feeling more light headed and dizzy but we put that down to the heat.
He has a telephone appointment with his GP at the end of the week and would be grateful for any input. Thank you

Hey I too have an ICD. Just over 2 weeks ago I was admitted to hospital with a heart rate of 35. I was extremely dizzy and very unsteady on my feet. My heart was producing extra beats but not turning them into a pulse. I had only one tablet stopped which was ivabradine, I still take a high dose of bisoprolol along with a number of other tablets. They changed a setting on my ICD so now it pretty much paces all the time.
Thank you. Once my husband speaks to his GP later this week, he may telephone Papworth re his pacemaker and ICD settings, which the GP has no control over. There is obviously an age factor in this regarding the tiredness but not the dizziness.
My ICD has been set to pace when my heart rate tries to drop below 40bpm, which it does every night - the ICD is working 1.5% of the time, which sounds quite a lot to me, given that my daytime resting HR is around 55.
HiI was having a low resting heart rate of 34 after an ECG was decided to stop my Bisoprolol and has risen now to 40, which for me worked but you must speak to your GP or Cardialogist who are the best people to advise in your situation, I hope they can sort it out for you....
My resting heart rate hovers in the mid 40s and, according to my Apple Watch, sometimes falls below 40 when I'm asleep or really relaxed. This was happening while I was in hospital in the UK prior to heart bypass surgery and the doctors didn't seem to be concerned, since I told them that I used to do lots of aerobic exercise and had a low heart rate even I was younger. I don't have any side-effects, such as dizziness or tiredness. However, I am going to raise the issue with a cardiologist when I see him soon, now that I am back in my second home in Mexico. Just in case. I don't know if taking bisoprolol has an impact.
Thank you. My husband will, of course, take this up with his cardiologist. However, his GP is in control of his medication and he only sees a cardiologist if they see fit when he goes for his defibrillator check.
