Hope you are all well. Went in Hospital to have x2 stents put in on Wednesday.
Right arm “No Entry”, Left arm “No Entry”!!
My worst nightmare came to light, they had to go through the groin 🤮. The procedure took nearly 2 hours and I was experiencing a lot of chest pain. They finally gave me Morphine. It time the pain went.
My Cardiologist explained he had only put in 1 stent and the other arterie can be managed by medication!! I’m still a little confused about that as I was told both my arteries were severely blocked, upto 80%!! I had to stay in hospital overnight. I am home now and I am feeling much better and relieved it’s over…… for now! Just a little confused 🙄.

Welcome back home where the true recovery can begin, fantastic news that the outcome was just the one stent and it really proves how valuable having the angioplasty is.
So sorry to hear that your veins put up the old “no entry signs” its a problem that I have as well { hence my last one was in the groin as well } healing wise they took about the same time, just seemed a little more uncomfortable in the groin area { understandable}
Time to heal, take your time, you may or may not have slight discomfort in the chest area which you should have been told about and good old basic pain killers helped mine.
And I found a frozen pack of peas with a towel around it help the entrance wound site { and a tub of ice cream, eaten not for the wound site, helped as well !}
Hi Blue, welcome to the “No entry club”. Thank you for your advice and kind words. Yes in some ways it sounds better that I only have 1 stent put in…..but still worry about my other artery. I guess I’ll have a few more questions for my Cardiologist on my follow up appointment. Right I’m off to get a pack of Frozen peas & ice cream from the Freezer 😬. If only I can remember…. Eat peas! Ice cream on wound 🤔 🤣
It sounds you had to go through quite an ordeal to get that stent but so glad your home now recovering
The Consultant must have felt if they were struggling to get the second one in it would be alright to leave it so try and put your trust in them and now concentrate on your recovery which already seems to be going well as you feel better x
But your right. I think it’s amazing what they can actually do. I must have more trust in there judgement and focus more on my recovery. Thank you, BeKind 😬
We all feel a little anxious when it comes to stents , Bypasses or most do it was only yesterday you had it done but as more days pass your confidence will get better and yes I try and stay focused they know what they are doing and I am sure they would have not sent you home had they not thought what they had done was enough
More than unexpected, if I have it set in my mind that’s what I want🤣. I agree , your right. I guess I should be grateful it’s only one artery stented.
It’s still difficult to get the thought out my head though. My family have a history of heart Disease. Both my parents had a triple pass. My dad passed away when he was 56yrs old.
I am 57 and just had a stent fitted. I am trying to eat more healthily and as for fitness!
You wouldn’t believe I used to go to the gym 4/5 times a week, ran a mini marathon.
But because of an underlying illness I don’t have the energy and lack the motivation to do anything. I have always been an active person. I am fiercely independent, but I feel exhausted all of the time 🥱 . Thanks for your reply 😬
