Its been a week since I handed my holter monitor back and there's no sign of any results back yet is that good or bad? Or still too early? Also I had a bad day yesterday my HR was low while out shopping with my daughter and i felt a bit lightheaded. In the evening while doing tea I thought I was going to pass out so i had to sit down my Hr was down to 43 not as low as other times but I suddenly felt lethargic and just on the edge of fainting if that makes sense. Had to sit down and I felt like I was sinking into the pillow completely wiped out. After about an hour I started to come out of it but my HR was fluctuating between 44 and 68 in seconds up and down while resting. It was like that all evening and while in bed. The kardiamobile noted bradycardia too.Today I'm feeling drained and my HR sitting between 48 and 52.
whats your views.

Hi Heartifact, I don't like to bother anyone or be a nuisance chasing up results if it's too early for them to come back but i agree with you, so i just called my doctors and the receptionist said nothing has come back yet and it could take upto 2 weeks. Thanks for giving me the nudge and putting my mind at ease.
I had a holter monitor on for a week and it took several weeks to hear back as they had a backlog, same old, same old. My results were reasonable. It must be worrying for you to have felt so rotten and had a low heart rate. I think I would have a word with my GP about the episode you had shopping and your holter results. I hope all is well for you.
Thanks woodbon, yes it's been going on for over 2 years now with lots of test along the way and being diagnosed with lvh, mvp and bradycardia. Two trips to A&E once with a HR of 30 in the ambulance but now it all depends on the holter monitor results as the cardiologist said if my HR is still low after coming off bisoprolol he will fit a pacemaker. I feel fine at the minute but like many people on here symptoms come and go......yesterday was a bad day. Hopefully get some news in the next couple of days.Best wishes.
This question comes up quite often. It seems to depend on the hospital. Mine took 8 weeks to report back to me and my GP. The delay implies nothing other than they have too many monitors to analyse.
In my own case it was quite a few weeks. Apart from the analysis of the results, there is also the 'what happens next' to report and other departments to inform if you need further appointments.
I had a holter monitor fitted on Christmas Eve and had to drop it off several days later in a box at the hospital. Obviously Christmas slowed things down but my results t ook about 3 weeks and were ok. I think anything urgent would be found sooner.
I just don't feel myself anymore having bouts of bradycardia each day feeling dizzy and tired, then have a racing heart rate while going upstairs etc. I originally thought it was down to the bisoprolol but I've been off it since March and I still have a rhr of 40 sometimes......fingers crossed it will be sorted out soon.
I am in the UK. I had a holter monitor just before last Christmas. I waited 12 weeks. Then phoned the department where I had the monitor from. Only to be told my results had been sent to my GP just before the New Year and they don't routinely send the results to the patient! I then contacted my GP surgery and they emailed them to me that afternoon.
Hi Louisep1958, I had a similar scenario too, i waited months for my echo results so i eventually called my gp who said they received them 4 weeks previously and I should of had a copy of them. The gp called me back and told me I had mild mitral valve prolapse and the following day i got my letter through the post. I hope I don't have to wait too long for the holter monitor results.Best wishes
HiRailRover, I have been to A&E twice in the last 3 months once while at work HR dropped to 30 in the ambulance and second time while at my gp as he didn't like my obs. After hours waiting and all checks done I was sent home with the doctors requesting I get seen by my cardiologist asap.....hence another holter monitor test. The hospital knows of my bradycardia, lvh and mvp but unless I'm having an heart attack etc they couldn't do nothing but refer me to the cardiologist. Believe me I have thought of going to A&E many times since due to having daily episodes but I'm probably wasting their time and someone else who needs it. So I now wait for the holter monitor results and as people have mentioned i may be waiting many weeks but i hope to get a conclusion soon. The cardiologist originally said if my HR is still low after coming off the bisoprolol he will fit a pacemaker....and my RHR is still low at 40 + so wait and see.Best wishes
I had a holter for a week, not sure what the results were, but a few days later, was booked for MRI in September. It would be nice to know what happened. Or what the results were.
Hi bluedolphin2, I think its a case of pushing your gp for the results as people are saying but as you're booked in for an MRI maybe they are waiting till you've had the scan so they have more information and results etc.Best wishes
I am with Royal Brompton in London, and that's where the scan will be.I'm just hoping they will send the information letter ( copy ) to me as well as my Gp.
Thanks for replying 🌷
It would be nice to know what's going on for once!!
Hopefully it won't be too long before we both get our results back and some conclusion to it all. I'm sort of hoping I get a pacemaker and not be fobbed of with see how it goes etc take these tablets as its been a long 3 years and I've exhausted every avenue with this.Good luck.
