Hey guys it's Stacey (Bruno is my nickname after my doggy). I had a 24 hour ECG monitor dine in Thursday which went back yesterday & I was just wondering how long it takes to get the results back to the GP ?? Also I went to see a cardiologist last Tuesday for reassurance basically who put in the appointment for an echocardiogram which I have got this Tuesday. Do I get told there and then what it says or would I have to wait for the cardiologist to call me. Thanks

Generally speaking for any test results, if a doctor needs to discuss something with you then they will be in touch pretty quickly.

I think if all is well then folk are waiting a few weeks.

This is purely anecdotal of course, I'm sure others will be along with their experiences.

hi, it took a couple of weeks for my monitor results to come through from my GP but I went to see a cardiologist privately and had an echocardiogram which I got the results there and then at the appointment

Awaiting holter monitor results from GP got echo on Tuesday. When you had your echo scan done was it the cardiologist who did it or the radiographer or whatever they call the people who do the scans now that told you there and then

As you did not have to wait to long to have the monitor hopefully you will get the results quickly. I waited 12 weeks for the monitor and the 10 for the results, all was ok, but it does get fustrating to have to wait. Hope it goes well for you.

Only had to wait a week to get the monitor as the original referral got out on the wrong list so the system rejected it. Spoke to the GP secretary explaining that I should have heard something by now (this was 2 weeks ago). She said sorry it's happened when it shouldn't have & she called me back within half an hour saying I had an appointment the following week to get it fitted. Just waiting now but think I might give the GP a call tomorrow to see if he's heard anything yet.
