asking for holter monitor again

hello

Is it worth asking for another holter monitor even though last year’s tests were clear?

I cannot ignore (although I try) the pounding heart (not just when heart beat raised) that all the time reverberates through my left side, chest, left side neck and head. It’s very difficult to ignore. I can see my clothes vibrate in tune to my heart beat. If I let my hair hang over my face, you can see it vibrating - I want to 🤣about it but it’s irritating, frustrating as just can’t relax.

if it was all in my head I really don’t think my mind can make the visible vibrations happen nor the thumping beat in my neck and head. 🤔

This has been going on for some time and I have posted about it so sorry to keep on about it.

I have a cardiologist appointment later this week and was thinking of asking although when I usually explain the above they usually ignore or say don’t know what that’s about as tests been clear before.

Ask again for holter? Worst case they just say no. Or should I be asking for something else?

I would hope they’d have already picked up if something, had thorough angiogram Jan 2023. I’ve also had since January 2022 ct scan, first angio, holter twice, echo and nuclear heart scan.

just after thoughts and own experiences as might help for understanding.

Hello :-)

This is your body and your health so you have to make sure you are happy and no one else

If it were me I would write down all my questions and I would get them ut and go through them on my appointment and if they miss one or pretend you did not ask I would say can we go back to this please and you explain it to me you have missed it out

If you feel a holter monitor is needed again then I would ask if this could be done if they said no then I would ask them to explain and if I did not agree I would tell them so this all can be done in a polite manner as you know but this is your appointment which can be hard to come by so you need t make the most of it

I would even say what you have written in your post to them as you have explained what is happening and how it makes you feel perfectly

If you need to be asking for anything else I am not sure but others will maybe be able to tell you

Good Luck and let us know how you get on :-) x

thank you, that read like a very kind kick up the proverbial 😊 to be brave, get prepared and ask. I always mention it but the bigger issue of my congenital heart defect takes over. I get overwhelmed. Always come away thinking why didn’t I push that point. Thanks (I’m glad you’re here by the way ❤️).

Hello :-)

No it was not meant to be a lick up the you know what but I know what I do and exactly the same till now I have learnt I need sometimes to be a bit more assertive don't find it easy but the only way I make sure I make the best of my appointments and don't come away frustrated

I find keeping that list in my hand and keep reminding them they have missed answering a certain question gets an answer even though they may look at you strangely sat with a list but so what just make sure you take the right list with you and not your shopping list :-)

You can do this and you need these answers I can tell you do :-)

Look forward to seeing how your appointment goes :-) x

thank you, I need a push sometimes (had a bit of cry this morning felt hopeless but brighter now) and I 100% know how you meant it. I will make a list. Just tidying up what now is a lever arch folder of records and letters and it’s interesting reading back and seeing how far have come since then - with support and advice from people here like yourself. Got to keep going and keep at them. I just meant it’s good to have a little nudge especially by people who understand and can relate. You have a good day, back to my filing🥴

Hello :-)

I have a cry often throughout the day and it can actually be a good thing we have to let these emotions out and then as now we can get on with the day

I know it can be exhausting keep pushing and pushing to get treatment and answers we need but I know you are strong enough and you can do this :-)

You will get there :-) x

Hi

That sounds terribly annoying, frustrating and downright intrusive, I can’t really relate as I have not only not experienced this but have never heard of it either.

Only suggestion I have is can you video your clothes and hair moving in time with your heartbeat on your phone and ask at your appointment for the cardiologist to explain to you what it is and why it is happening?

Hope you get an answer that will explain all

it is very slight, I feel it more and like you say very frustrating. I’ll give it ago, it’s hard to explain to people without sounding nutty, makes me second guess myself. Thanks for the idea.
