Hello everyone 😊 just asked the nurse a general question about clopidogrel and tooth extraction, because of the risk of bleeding etc
She was very surprised that I’ve been taking it for 6 years as it’s normally prescribed for a year , I have a docs appointment on the 17th so I’ll ask then , I just wondered what everyone else thought please 😊😊

Depends on the reason why you have been prescribed clopidogrel. You need to check with your GP.
I have been taking 'cloppy dog' for 10 years so far. I am on clopidogrel for life. I can't take aspirin as it can make my heart condition worse.
Aspirin and clopidogrel are both antiplatelets, they do not ' thin the blood' nor do anticoagulants like warfarin, they just make your blood clot more slowly.
I have had a tooth removed without problems whilst taking clopidogrel.
Hello there on this lovely afternoon in Bristol, thanks for taking the time out of your day 😊I started taking it for a suspected TIA years ago and I’ve seen lots of docs for heart stuff over the last 18 months so I’m pretty sure one of them would have changed my prescription plus I had a complicated wisdom tooth taken out about 5 years ago with no problems, but I’ll double check at my next appointment.
I’m trying to hang on to my teeth as long as possible but one may well have to go in the future depends on my magic dentist who is brilliant 💕💕
I was given Clopidogrol initially for life because I could be given a beta blocker. But after a medication review earlier this year and in consultation with my cardiologist I was taken off them. That means I was on them for 10 years.
Ahh you could have hit the nail on the head as I can’t take beta blockers .I’m due at the doctor on Tuesday so I’ll be asking don’t worry, thank you for your reply 😊
