Isosorbide Mononitrate

You should talk to a pharmacist who will be qualified to answer.

I have been taking Isosorbide mononitrate for many years.
You can develop a tolerance to nitrates which means that the nitrate isn't as effective. For this reason it's important to have a nitrate free period in 24 hours, rather than taking your isosorbide nitrate at 12 hour intervals.
I personally take my isosorbide mononitrate 60mgs at 6pm and then another 60mgs at 11pm.
I also use GTN patches which I put on at 6pm and remove the following morning.
I do this as I have vasospastic angina and experience most of my chestpain at night.
I suggest you talk to a Pharmacist, your GP or Cardiologist to determine what is the best time for you to take your isosorbide mononitrate.
I take 60mg of Isosorbide Mononitrate a day. On the advice of the pharmacist, I take half the dose at about 5am and the remaining 30mg at 8am. She told me that it is important to have a nitrate free period, also mentioned by Milkfairy with her reply to you.
I take 120mg all in the morning at the same time as this is what I am instructed to do.
Just had a word with a local Pharmacist and she's told me 6:45AM and 2 or 3 in the afternoon would be fine. Thanks for all the replies.
