Ppis and anjina

I have been taking ppis 20mg for years, but now with medication for suspected anjina i am struggling with i think indigestion I have increased my rabeprazole to 40mgs i have chest ache nearly all day especially after eating and when i move my arms around i can feel it in my chest.

I took Omeprazole (a PPI) in conjunction with the anti-anginals Isosorbide Mononitrate and Diltiazem, together with Aspirin, Lisinopril and Atorvastatin without issue apart from when I ate spicy food. Your best bet is to have a chat with your GP.

Thanks, I will ask gp but its hard getting in touch with anyone nowadays, I have got a hiatus hernia it will be the statins and aspirin they both cause indigestion especially with hiatus hernia.

Thanks, just received a text from gp because I've been suffering with indigestion despite taking 20mg of rabeprazole twice a day, he said i can stop aspirin for 4wks to see if it makes a difference if not restart it, bit shocked at that thought aspirin was the main one to be on,

I had terrible pain from aspirin. I'm allergic to PPIs so there was only one alternative, famotidine which doesn't work as well so my GP changed me to the coated aspirin which dissolves in your gut not your stomach. They aren't normally keen because apparent ly it doesn't stay in he body q uite as long. But since staring it, I've had no more problems touch wood. ask you GP about enteric coated aspirin

Thanks, the indigestion i get is in my chest during the night I had some acid reflux in my throat which I have never had before even though I have got a hiatus hernia.
