Might give someone hope…

I thought sharing our story may give others hope during an uncertain and worrying time.

My husband (46) was admitted to HDU 6 months ago with high rate AF and turned out he had LVSD with a EF of 12% !!! He was told by every doctor that they either had never seen an EF as low or had not seen it very often. Lots of talk about surgery and even a transplant if no improvement.

He was placed on 8 different types of medication and had cardioversion.

6 months later he has been for another echocardiogram and in his follow up cardiologist appointment yesterday we got some fantastic news.

He is now sitting around 50% EF and his heart is still in sinus rhythm. He is not out the woods completely and will likely be on his meds for the foreseeable future but considering the options a few months ago we are delighted with the progress.

I wanted to share the good news as it may help others have hope and positivity that things can improve. At the time we couldn’t see a way up and could only see the worst case scenario.

This group helped us massively and I wanted to now try to give back a little bit help to someone else.

Thank you for posting this (from the bottom of my heart - sorry for the pun).

I know this is massive for you and your husband, but that really does help the likes of me too.

Mine EF wasn't as bad as you husband but such positive news really does lift those of us with a similar problem.
