I posted a couple of days ago about cramps in legs and feet. Well I've gone from that to taking my gtn for pain in shoulder and spots of pain in right chest to passing out and being non responsive with eyes open. My other half finally got me to come around but he'd already phoned the ambulance and they wanted to speak to me. All I remember is they said 45 minutes and they were with me in 15 easily.Still in A&E, seems low blood pressure 66 over 44 then 55 over something. Had intravenous fluids now it's fluctuating from 100 over 60 to 69 over 40 something so been having bed tilted twice til it comes back up to 95 over something is the culprit but have ran 2 Troponin T tests. First one came back as "7" which makes me happy as last year it was 990 then 1399. I'm waiting for results of second test. Finally saw a cardiologist, she's booking a nuclear scan (medical doctor said perfusion scan) in preparation for my follow up up. Turns out I wasn't taken off list afterall. Or could the gp have gotten through to them that fast from Wednesday?
Medical doctor and team lovely the cardiologist wants them to add ranolazone I think he said to see if it is angina in which case he said it should work. But they want me on it to be on safeside. Medical doctor said vasovagul(not sure of spelling) syncope /spasms.
I'm to continue with the Atorvastatin and bisoprolol 1.25mg which is minimal but nonetheless enough for me as I'm only little, not much to me lol. Said that's the best combo for now if can tolerate a bit further it may calm down with with the ranazalone.
Been one of those months!

Your husband did the right thing calling the ambulance. I noticed the other day from your post that you BP is particularly on the lower side, has this always been the case? Thank goodness your husband was there when you passed out.
I have heard of vasovagul syncope. It’s when your heart rate and BP suddenly drop, but often there can be a trigger. Do you remember what you were doing before passing out?
I hope the second Troponin comes back ok. You are in the best place and it sounds like the medics are all rallying around you which is good news! I wonder if your cardiologist expedited your appointment for the scan when you arrived at the hospital based on your symptoms. Otherwise, your GP can also expedite your appointment as well. Either way, the scan is soon which is good news.
Hi Tos92, I was doing the washing up then brushed my teeth and could lift right arm properly it got so so tired. The second Troponin was 8, so happy days
Bloods pressure usually a little on low side but nothing like I've had over last 2days, Early hours it was 149 over 80, I felt ok though.
Yes I agree, I'm lucky he was thinking good and called the ambulance, my temperature had dropped to 35 too I was freezing. Came back up midday yesterday to 36 something.
Came on to have a look and this was the last thing I thought I would see and so sad that this happened
Ambulances usually get to you quick when things relate to the heart but glad they were there in 15 minutes as well as good quick thinking from your other half phoning them
I won't go on because even though I know we always say you are in the best place you are and they are the ones that can answer everything do the tests needed and so on and I am glad you have a good Medical Team and Consultant taking good care of you
If we have to try and find something positive out of all this I would say it might get you seen sooner rather than waiting as you were even though none of us want to read that this has happened to you
I know you are a very kind person and yesterday you were thinking about others but I hope you will think about you now
I always used to be so anxious waiting for that second blood test coming back you seem to be as calm as you can be which is good and I am hoping that comes back fine and I also hope you will let us know
Will be thinking about you and hoping to read some good news soon
Make a note of anything you want to ask as you are waiting for your results while you are among professionals who can answer them for you x
Thank goodness for your husband and quick response from the ambulance service. We all say the cliche that you're in the right place, but you are and now you can get diagnosis and treatment needed. Thinking of you, keep us posted x
Thank you Castleview, I will reply to your update on your husband, I've been following your journey, I'm I think you've been amazing in how you've handled everything and am glad he is improving day by day x
Ah it's so nice to see these replies thank you Tos92, BeKind28 and Castleview. First Troponin was 7, second was 8 so in the clear heart attack wise, I've had to have beds tilted a few times and some fluids. BP came up to perfect reading and then an hour back down so being kept in over night for observation. Saw 2 more cardiologist. The 3rd was respiratory consultant too, confirmed I had copd but luckily it's not really symptomatic. Said it could be cardiac pain and the perfusion scan will show if it is and confirmed the Statin and bisoprolol are causing cramps, he said from checking my hands and records doesn't think I have bad PAD, and if the scan backs that up he'll reduce everything and thinking of stopping the Bisoprolol, depends on how BP goes tonight as its looking like the possible culprit.Right enough I waited over 6mths for appointment for cardiologist heard nothing then overnight I see 3 lol, just like buses lol.
Thank you all I appreciate it and hope you are all ok hugs to ya's 🫶
You seem to be taking everything in your stride but maybe the relief as you say seeing 3 cardiologists after waiting so long just to see one has helped
It sounds like they know what could be the culprit and I hope you are home soon and the adjustments to your medications works x
Hiya I should be going home today just saw medical consultant. Already there's been a cock up, this morning nurse gave me 2.5mg bisoprolol, I said I'm on half that dose he said doctor wrote it showed me his list it was at that amount. So I looked on my MFT a hospital app on your phone. And my patient access I was right but was too late, it's the damn pharmacist who noisily went thru my meds I brought in yesterday whilst I was at loo, I came back n she said what I'd brought in was gold dust and have I got spares??. Long story short, medical consultant doing the round this morning said no you're still on 1.25. I said what had happened he said just take what you normally take, too late took it this morning. No harm done as one off n unlikely to effect BP but will check it again and should be going home maybe today with the extra tablet I've started which they thought I'd started yesterday I said no not been given anything extra yet. So be giving me ranazalone 375mg to go home with.Yeah the copd wasn't confirmed but a scan I had in 2022 showed little bit of emphysema gp said at time, but I have no visible sign like bad breathless like my mum had or my friends with copd have. Pretty lucky in that respect. I'm kinda used to being ill so I don't really notice when something new crops up unless it's a huge effect like the NSTEMI and heart disease.
I'm just kicking myself for doing what the nurse told me to do like an idiot, should have trusted my own knowledge lol🙄. Noted for next time(if there is one). Wish they'd have started new drug before I go home, new medication actually does terrify me. Won't take anything new apart from heart stuff started last year as always get hammered with effects and since tried duloxetine and badly reacted just a no to anything. Won't even use the steroid cream just use my old trusty vaseline E45 or dove.
I've always been kinda chilled with diagnosis I don't like when they say they don't like to give it a label, noooo give me labels please I like to know lol.
You made me laugh already been a cock up this Morning
Usually is !
Don't kick yourself though because I think so many will relate they give us something we think that is wrong , try and tell them , they say no it is right , then we think I know it is wrong but they are the Doctors and Nurses so better not argue and take it even though we still know it is wrong and then after they let us know we did make a mistake
I am sure the one will not harm you though
I would be the same as you as well I would have rather them put me on the new tablet while I was there but I again and know it is easy for me to say when I am even struggling to take insulin but you will be ok try and think today I will take one and be fine same tomorrow
Is copd something that runs in the family ?
I am opposite I hate a diagnosis freaks me out
Doctor took my bloods yesterday she said she might note the word might get them back and put them on the system last night , they are not on so what is my head saying the reason they are not on is because there must be something wrong and my mind has come up with allsorts so far what is wrong and the word she used been might which of course I know the meaning of has turned in my mind to she said she would and why has she not done it then
I am the same as you with medications I do not like them and the simplest of things even a vitamin I freak out at but when it comes to heart medications I know I have to take them so I do but once on one even if not suiting me I don't like them changed
I really hope you can get home today and take it easy if you do look after you after these last couple of days you have had x
I think if you haven't been contacted within 12 to 24 hours it's good news, they usually ignore good news and leave you worrying but if it's bad they let you know quickly. As the saying goes no news is good news but I know exactly where you are coming from with it. I'm the same I'll be asking myself why? I know I shouldn't but I do too. But as you've said the key word isc"might". Oh the starting of Ranazalone is scary to me, atleast if they start it tonight I'm still here on the ward. Was being discharged but got light headed and BP dropped to low again so they said they'd observe me tonight. I don't think they'll be able to but rather start it here than at home x
Have you thought about asking them if you can start it now ?
Sorry your BP dropped again and you are staying another night but as you are enjoying the food so much maybe they do a good Sunday dinner which make sure you get one before they kick you out
I am the same with new medication I call it a med fear I really do not cope well but just say what I try to and trick your mind telling it I just have to take one today if I don't like them or I get side effects I can let them know and before you know it hopefully you are on them and that fear has gone away
Hope you get to go home today.Yes, we blindly follow nurses and doctors even if we're pretty sure they're wrong. As BeKind28 says one shouldn't hurt. Take care x
13 weeks of this snakes and ladders recovery game lol
wound healed nicely on surface a few chest aches in muscles nerves beneath but definitely getting better and just weaning off the paracetamol
My main problem is the muzzy woo woo head wobbly weak legs and a bad neck trying to sleep in unfamiliar positions lol
Think my weird head may be combination of meds, diabetes, stiff neck, lopsided hips back and knees, and def anxiety and flashbacks to hospital events and bad sleep
Some of those I had before op and was helped by chiropractor but can't go at mo till see cardiologist on March 11th Then I'll ask
longing for Spring, it started, flowers in garden YAY, today massive frost, feel much worse if I try to walk out in colder weather
Good points though in last few weeks, got used to having the occasional bubbly bath, DROVE MY CAR just one trip a week, taking short bus ride to my local town for decaff latte, had various grandchildren on sleepovers last week half term 🥰
So as I said good and bad but keep going keep smiling lol
Sorry have written a book again !
I hope you will feel better soon and get the correct medical help, the more posts I read the more I despair of the NHS and its problems
It's communication between them that gets me, no one picks up a phone or actually verbally speaks to anyone even if just in next room, it must be an email. I'm thinking that's fine if only it wasn't left 3 months before being opened! Glad to see yout getting out in the car and bus, nice to read see you here again Look after yourself too x
Made me giggle there WeeHoolet, but you're right, I've never been treated so well, even better than the cardiac ward, A&E were fantastic, shocked me but just makes me worry that it all seems to be disappearing and services available to the public just diminishing. It's scary, never felt so vulnerable I guess. Hope you're well
I understand your medication anxiety, as I suffer so many side-effects myself. And labels, I find, are good. They name the enemy and give a basis for reputable research and thus understanding. It's a postcode lottery, though, accessing a specialist to give that label/diagnosis. Keep on keeping on, Weetabixie; here's hoping your adjusted medication proves efficacious 🙂
