Hi everyone
Can anybody help with any information on a Rubidium heart scan that I am due to have at the hospital I had my heart bypass in May. I will try and lay out what happened but, I am not great at explaining so here we go. I am sorry if it seems all over the place.
In March of this year I had a heart attack at work and then another one in hospital. I was taken to another hospital where I had an angiogram and angioplasty. I went home after 11 days. I then had to go back In April and have a perfusion scan. During the scan the doctor stopped it and said that it was not for me. A couple of weeks later I got a report from my cardioligist. The report said infarction scarring was almost transmural and they had to abort perfusion due to intermittent 2-1 block during Adenosine infusion.
My recovery is slow going at the moment and, I am having a few problems. I have been admitted to hospital twice since my heart bypass in May with chest pains. I still have angina which I thought went when you have the bypass. I have HF but I believe from others my ef is good at 40-45 and I am pleased with that. My discharge note from last hospital stay says heart block 1st degree with paroxysmal mobitz pattern. I now know its not that bad and, it can go on its own. My cardioligist suspects my angina is microvascular but, cannot say for sure. Could that be the reason I am now having this Rubidium heart scan.
On another report it says I was admitted in May with refractory angina and this was the reason I had the bypass so where would microvascular come in. I have no idea what any of this means and, I have given up for now learning about what I have because I am that overwhelmed with it all. All I am 100% sure of is that without all of that care from the doctors and nurses and the life saving bypass the surgeons did I would not be getting my second chance at life. Would anybody know why I am having a heart scan that had to be stopped. I would be lying if I said I was not scared.
