Hi, Ive recently had a Heart Scan following Chest Pain and the results were a score of 24 all in RCA. I am awaiting see Cardiologist to discuss treatment if any. I am generally fit albeit have high Cholesterol of 6 which is being treated with Nilemdo 160mg as couldnt tolerate Statins due to pain and felt very very unwell. Do you think this Score in the one area is anything to be concerned about or not? Obviously I will be mindful until I see Cardiologist, but waiting list is in the region of 20wks if I get no earlier appt Im considering paying private to check it all out. Any help would be gratefully appreciated or comments. Many thanks.

Heart Scan Results Score Calcium 24
Im not really sure what you mean but If its a calcium score of 24 in your right coronary artery than that is incredible low and absolutely nothing to worry about. Is this correct? Anything between 100-300 is classed as moderate and the advice is to change lifestyle. Mine was 978 and I needed bypass surgery.
Thank you somuch for your reply. Yes that is what I was trying to say. Thank you again. I was just concerned as to why I needed to see Cardiologist if there was nothing to worry about.
So I guess eat better diet, exercise & lead healthier life style.
Thank you again
hi, I’ve recently been switched to Nilemdo as I’m allergic to statins. So far so good. My cardiac scan had a score of 25 in the LAD artery (known as the widow maker) The score shows only mild stenosis.
My cholesterol is currently 5.5. I’ve had high cholesterol since my late 20s and never taken statins. My arteries were clear 20 years ago. A false positive exercise stress test lead to an angiogram. My hospital consultant says lifestyle factors & no smoking are significant in CAD.
Try not to worry too much your score is at the lower end of risk.
How are you finding Nilemdo? Ive not really felt that many side effects. Although, its not lowered Cholesterol as much as Statins did, however no pain that I encountered re Statin.
Just interested how you felt on them. To my knowledge not many are on them for Cholesterol.
Have a good weekend.
It’s a very new drug & could only be prescribed by my lipids consultant at the hospital. I won’t know about it reducing cholesterol until my next round of bloods in September. I am having no side effects at all. The rosuvastatin caused horrible sores to appear on my face.
I’ve found my energy levels have improved and I have less brain fog & no memory issues. The rosuvastatin caused both. The consultant may consider adding in ezetimibe depending on my bloods.
My diet has always been good (I cook from scratch). In the meantime I’m working on improving my overall strength & fitness.
thanks! You too.
