Sorry if I stuff when I drink little to much my way coping with it but stop in well cutting down ween my self of it I don’t mean give ppl bad advice or dig at them just hard to cope as am sure ya all now that feeling be good

Hiya, I use to drink………..a lot! It really doesn’t help.

I’ve never exercised but after my TIA 2 months ago I’ve just started swimming.

If you have a lifestyle leisure center near you and you have a heart condition you can get the membership for half price.

You can use all the facilities gym etc.

All you need is a form from your doctors surgery!

Please ask them and move forward and break the booze cycle.

Try reading on the evenings too, it’s so nice to get ‘Lost’ in a book.

And so we are in a new day and hopefully you haven't started drinking yet! A friend's brother had a bypass but resumed drinking heavy two weeks later - he didn't make a year. By contrast another's father is over 40 years post bypass and doing well in his nineties.

So what is alcohol doing to you? Even moderate amounts increase your HR and BP. Large amounts can raise them to dangerous levels. In addition it can increase irritation often a precursor to plaque formation.

I personally doubt (but you are welcome to prove me wrong) you can drink within the guidelines so think you are best giving it up altogether.

Sending you big hugs, you have taken the first step by opening up here... we are all friends, people here are fantastic and so supportive.. please reach out here and not for a drink... you can do this.. your not on your own, you are an amazing person and deserve to live a full and healthy life.... you owe it to your self and to the people who care about you... stay positive.... and remember your not on your own..
